Re: End of Season Pictures
These were also taken today. I spent a very pleasant few hours up with Peter Butler, while there was a bit of shower dodging, the sun did put in an appearance.

Re: End of Season Pictures
To look at these pictures you wouldn't believe the weather conditions just minutes before, and again not long afterwards! However, we took advantage of the sunshine when it appeared and spent a few hours just playing trains. Thanks for your company Jim, it was a lovely day.

Wot! no biscuits in shot.
Lovely set of photos Jim and Peter. The first shot does it for me, with the last a close second. Lots of atmosphere.

I think they are all brilliant, but i do agree there Grant, the last photo for me shows all the beauty of steam.
Donβt suppose my laying of the boards counts towards the End of Season Pictures. lol.

Re: End of Season Pictures
No action here but the Autumn season will see a start on the Wood yard where Timmy waits to swing his mallet. Removal of some old fuschias has allowed the sun to reach the yard and thought a couple of staged photos might look nice.

Superb photos. Low sun, long shadows, end of a working day.

Since this is really the end of season and we are heaving a complete day of heavy winds and rainshowers which have continued since yesterday evening, I'm in the mood for jumping back to summer and working the steamtrains..
Just a way to end this year with memories of nice summer evenings with a cold beer and steamtrains.. Best whishes for 2018!

And to you daan.
The weather here is awful so I have not managed to run any trains for what feels like months.

The bricks really make it, well worth the effort, that's what model making is all about.

Re: End of Season Pictures
Sure.
These were taken one quiet Wednesday at Butterley in mid September. The sun was high and bright, but it was low enough to tell that it was autumn and not high summer anymore.

Re: End of Season Pictures
A lovely set of scenes Doug, your train really sets of the settled surroundings. A bit of spit and polish in that Great Western set. That track looks like its been there for years with all the growth.
