End of Season Pictures
End of Season Pictures
Here in West Wales what little summer we have had has now definitely gone. While we may see a few nice days in the weeks to come the feeling of Autumn is very much in the air.
So as a reminder of the odd sunny days that we have had I have started a thread for us to post our best summer pics from the last few months.
Mine are somewhat limited and rather naff but never mind.
Apologies to our members over the waters if your summer is just around the corner but perhaps a pic from last year could be posted.

Not sure if this is significant, but I had to trawl back to 2014 to find something suitable.

Re: End of Season Pictures
Summer on the Afonglas and Nant Llwyd Railway was all about the arrival of new motive power, Beddgelert landing at the start of June. It then ran for pretty much all running sessions for the rest of the season.

Re: End of Season Pictures
This reminds me of the photo competitions that use to be held on the forum.
Would people be interested in these being hosted again on a regular basis?

Shrewd fellow...
Anyone else up for it as it takes time to manage.
Re: End of Season Pictures
It’s great to have photos at all times and a competition is a good thing to have, it can be of different subjects and of different time's of the year, say Spring,Summer,Autumn, Winter and an overall winner at the end of the year..brilliant.

Re: End of Season Pictures
These were also taken today. I spent a very pleasant few hours up with Peter Butler, while there was a bit of shower dodging, the sun did put in an appearance.

Re: End of Season Pictures
To look at these pictures you wouldn't believe the weather conditions just minutes before, and again not long afterwards! However, we took advantage of the sunshine when it appeared and spent a few hours just playing trains. Thanks for your company Jim, it was a lovely day.
The best things in life are free.... so why am I doing this?
Re: End of Season Pictures
Wot! no biscuits in shot.
Lovely set of photos Jim and Peter. The first shot does it for me, with the last a close second. Lots of atmosphere.

I think they are all brilliant, but i do agree there Grant, the last photo for me shows all the beauty of steam.
Don’t suppose my laying of the boards counts towards the End of Season Pictures. lol.
