Elsecar Show

Post by Sir haydn » Tue Oct 18, 2011 8:08 pm

As it would seem the heritage centre can no longer accommodate the show' the Elsecar show' will no longer be 'the elsecar show' . The show will carry on but at a different and as yet undecided location.

Have they said why the show can no longer be held there ? Is it a size issue, cost or do they just no longer want to hold the event ?

Oh gawd, I hope this dosn't turn into Stoneleigh all over again, Elesecar was about the limit of how far I'd want to travel for the size of show. I hope they manage to find somewhere that is as good as Elsecar was, whilst staying close to the centre of Yorkshire (though I'll admit I wouldn't complain if it came a bit further north and west  )
"What the hell is that?"
"It's a model icebreaker sir."
"It's a bit big isn't it?"
"It's a full scale model sir....."

Nah, nothing to do with that, it's cause I've moved in about 5 mins away on the train

The centre is building staging in the hall we use for musical events, and elf 'n safety (i think it must be a weight on the staging issue) means we cant use the hall. The show will certainly be in the same area for next year.

Oh buzzer, another fine venue bites the dust?? What with this and Stoneleigh going down the tubes, my world is falling apart.

I'm even more gutted that I coudn't go this year now!
The Elsecar Show certainly had it's own excellent atmosphere which was definitely in part thanks to the venue - here's hoping the replacement can capture at least part of the magic :)

I heard from Matt that it was back on, with the cafe area being used to make up the extra space! :D

As I understand it, they're putting in a stage, so the cafe has to go to make up the space. Take your own sandwiches!

There building a smallish stage, so there not using the cafe 'cos it uses space and was expensive!
Thanks
Jack

I think you've misread, the show is still being held in the same location but it was suposed to be moving this year.

The show is on at elsecar. The yorks group are paying to have the new stage removed from the hall for the weekend so all is as it was last year.
