Re: Daisy, Daisy...

Looking good! I love it when an on again, off again project comes back into on again after a while. Thank you! I've managed to maintain momentum today, masking up loco and tender and taking them outside into the last of the year's warm sunshine (?) to spray the black edging. There were a few blemis...

Re: Daisy, Daisy...

Nice paint job, will follow the post. And it's a good thing that the pictures no longer run via photobucket. The watermark doesn't allow for proper viewing. If you open the link in a new tab you can get the watermark out, but the view is a lot smaller. Or am I doing something wrong. I gave my Konra...

Re: Daisy, Daisy...

Well this thread took some finding! My on/off project of cosmetic changes to the Regner has mostly been in "off" mode for several years, but I did build a tender body and chassis, which is now complete apart from detailing. I'm on leave this week, and the sun came out yesterday, so I took ...

Re: North East Victoria Railway

Always a pleasure to see a catch up from you, thank you!

Isn't it amazing how, however many locos you buy/build, you always seem to be in the midst of a minor motive power crisis! Well, I am anyway - I'm not good at keeping up with maintenance!

It is, isn't it?!

I really like this little wagon, very much looking forward to seeing it with the crane.

Re: The (Windmill Hill) Welsh Highland Railway

Thanks for the kind words chaps, much appreciated! Each year, come the autumn, the (WH)WHR gives up on passenger services, and this weekend's sunshine seemed the perfect opportunity to mark the occasion. Having finally outshopped three very long-term carriage projects this year, the train pretty muc...

I was wondering why I had a "Toad" in mind, not the right era at all, and then I realised - I was thinking of the Titfield Thunderbolt!

Re: (WH)WHR Rolling Stock

Knowing nothing about narrow gauge or its history, I find it difficult to comment usefully beyond coming out with stuff like… Looks great, really neat, nicely weathered. Cool ‘Raspberry Beret’ ref. Thanks Bertie! I've a feeling that the Ffestiniog could be a good "gateway drug" to the wor...

There's also a girl in a raspberry beret, waiting to be pulled by Prince*. Extraordinary work here, both on the carriage and especially on exceptional quality and effort in this transcendent dad-joke. People have said some very kind things on here over the years, mostly about model trains - this, h...

Re: The (Windmill Hill) Welsh Highland Railway

Hi all! As I mentioned on my Rolling Stock thread, I don't really know why I stopped my Hudson toastrack project halfway through - I do know why I restarted it though. That was because I rode in the real thing at the Welsh Highland 100 event back in June. On the day I rode on the FR's No 39, it was ...

Re: December 2023 Gallery Entries thread

are there thread/posts anywhere else on the forum where you discuss (a) how you rusted that tipper and (b) your approach to ballasting? Both looking phenomenal in this shot! Glad you like 'em! I waffle on about tipper rusting on my rolling stock thread, pages 14 and 33, plus a more general overview...

Re: (WH)WHR Rolling Stock

I think you have made a wonderful job of that carriage, every detail looks just right. I love the weathering too! Can you please let me know where I might buy chain like the one you have used? Thanks Peter, I really appreciate it! I bought the chain on eBay a few years ago for my timber bolsters - ...
