Rod, I've edited your post to add the CC licence info from the Thingiverse page, which we ask people to do with thses links, to avoid any pirating as happened with my platform front. To add the picture, you first need to download it from Thingiverse and save it to your phone/computer. Then upload it...

Trevor, just re-reading this thread and I notice that the fella in the boat is wearing a top hat. Is that an MH Asset or is it clothing item you've made yourself? I've looked before for things like that and never found any>

It's an intriguing idea.

It certainly is intriguing as you say. Not cheap of course and much as I'd love to be able to play with one, I can't see me splashing out 400quid plus, atm!

I think a bit more research is in order Well, I think many, if not most, on here would suggest that you look seriously at the Deltang range. Designed for trains not aircraft or boats, with the potential for controlling up to 12 models from one Tx and with a wide range of Rx outputs giving the poten...

Heart breaking Greg, but looking on the bright side, I'm sure that more than once in the past you have thought, "I wish I'd done this or that" . Now you will be able to.

Re: Transporter wagon

Yes, the open wagon is North Staffs I'm sure. That is definately the N.S Knot in the centre. The 'NSR' branding is a bit unusual, it was normally just 'N S' I thought but I'm no expert and it may be period dependant, I'd guess.

So the transporter being L&M seems most likely.

The farm tractor in the background is a smaller scale but used here to create a sense of distance. This is a photo from my archives so if anyone has any objections to me using it then please let me know and I'll replcace it. The perspective works well Andy, I wouldn't have realised if you hadn't sa...

In sketchup the inspector identifies surface issues including "nested objects" which are the armrests which just impinge on the backrest. Trevor, Are you using the Sketchup "Intersect faces with model/selection" command? It's in both the Edit drop down and right click mouse. I c...

Re: Water tank rivets problem

I have had problems with rivets falling off. I thought I had got around it by dropping them below the surface - so I was sure they intersected the surface. Perhaps a better way is to use a guide line to encourage them to sit on the surface. I've been doing a bit of investigating myself. When I impo...

100mm at 10:1 = 10.00 ie 100/10 100mm at 22.5:1 = 4.44 ie 100/22.5 100mm at 19.05: = 5.25 ie 100/19.05 22.5/19.05 = 1.18 ( conversion factor) so 1.18 x 4.44 ( dimension from 22.5 drawing) = 5.24 which should be close enough to 5.25 for your purposes as long as you use the same conversion factor thro...

Thanks Simon, very impressive. I have looked at OpenSCAD in the past and I'm afraid that you've just confirmed what I thought, you need to enjoy computer programming to bother with it! I'm sure it is a whiz if/when you can learn it and I have seen some really superb models produced with it, but rath...

Just out of curiosity, I put one of the original tank sides on to print before I went to bed last night. It has printed pretty well, although there seems to have been some sort of shift half way up. It's pretty subtle and I don't think I can photograph it. However all the rivets seem to be stuck tig...
