Re: Trims on Radio Control
The trimmers are really more use to aircraft modellers when you need to adjust the flight characteristics of a model by say adding more lift to the elevators, it saves having to keep dismantling the plane to adjust the servos plus you can do it in flight, the more exotic transmitters can save these ...

Re: Archangel Range
I've mostly finished my conversion set for the Vale of Rheidol 2-6-2 Edward 7th as GWR 1212 after it's 1925 rebuild, The GWR replaced it's side tanks to an identical pattern that is on the current trio apart from the small cut out for the valve gear, they also changed the safety valve cover too but ...

Re: Run time
I think 25 minutes is OK, I'm not a great fan of Gas fired locos I have three, to my mind they seem too fierce and too hot however much you try and turn them down, and it always seems to me that you are trying to run a loco sedately while the boiler is bursting at the seems eager to charge around at...

Nice but like it's single Fairlie counterpart the riveting is a little bit clunky.

Re: New Accucraft Loco Dolgoch
I've never been a big fan of the squared off cab entrance, It spoils it's looks in my opinion. I think actually there is a big enough market for two suppliers as these have been wanted by a lot of people for a very long time, even Accucraft don't make a vast quantity of any particular loco as one mi...

New Accucraft Loco Dolgoch
Unsurprisingly on this sleepy behind the times forum this new announcement from Accucraft is not on here [ I wonder what the Primary Garden Railway Forum is?] So here it is : https://www.accucraft.uk.com/2018/12/accucraft-december-news-8/ This I think is major news as it is intimating that all the T...

Re: RH Double Fairlie
I've just checked my brilliant book ' Fairlie Locomotives of North Wales' and they look very similar apart from that Merddin Emrys has a 1 foot longer wheelbase and a more closely sheeted in cab side, visually you can see a bit more boiler from the side in front of the sandboxes, wouldn't worry me. ...

Re: RH Double Fairlie
I don't see why it should be the same price as a Beyer-Garratt as the power bogie on it's own is about £600 and if you say the rest of the loco is no more 'bulk' than a typical scale £2000 loco that they produce it should be by my reckoning be no more than 3K.

Re: Archangel Range
Looks like its just on the limit of that first radius curve! It's quite a long wheelbase, runs well though.
Here's mine on test.

Re: Archangel Range
Yes works very well , it was a bit breezy and it made no difference to the steaming and the boiler lasted for three meths refills.

Re: Archangel Range
Picked up this on ebay as a non working wreck a 1976 Archangel Princess , just finished restoring it, have made a couple of minor cosmetic changes and boxed in the side tanks and moved them out as per the 1980's version, made new one piece footplate, made one new buffer beam and reinstated the buffe...

Oxy Acetylene kit for Silver Soldering?
Hi, I'm restoring an Archangel Princess and want to change and remake parts that will be silver soldered again. I'm having trouble de-soldering parts that need to come off and I think it's because the parts say the meths tank inlet and outlet tubes are part of quite big assemblies and I'm just not g...

My friends son told me a good response he made to the ' About your road accident that you recently had' from the car insurance scammers, his reply was " Which one? oh you mean the one where I killed the kids! Needless to say the person on the phone hung up!
