What vintage was your Jack? I recently acquired one and am still learning its intricacies... I got this loco second hand about 1995 and it was not that old maybe a couple of years? It was I think one of the last ones as it had the generic smoke box non opening door and you had to take the whole smo...

I have had three in my time, I had a festiniog 'Princess' a Campbeltown and Machrihanish Kerr Stuart 'Skylark' 'Princess and finally a Coal fired 'Jack' they were great fun. The 'Jack' was a bit of a rocket ship it was quite tricky to keep the pressure at a reasonable level while maintaining a small...

Great looking model! The additions really do enhance the looks. A Tom said I'd be tempted to go with a matte black on the cab roof and smoke box, this could be done using a matte lacquer though. As for the safety valve how much shorter does it need to be? Are there any other details your planning t...

That looks great! Did you mask and spray the black edging? Must do it to my RH Russell sometime but have been considering brush painting the edging... Glad you haven't aded those huge couplings Bowaters used... Cheers, Andrew. Yes I did mask and spray the black edging by cutting masking tape out on...

Good stuff. Spray painting the smoke box and cab roof with heat resistant stove/BBQ paint will make a big difference to that loco :) Yes that is another job on the list, although I do plan to remake the smokebox as its incorrect dimensionally. The smokebox door is too large and the length of the sm...

WDLR Driver 1:19 Scale
I'm about to commission a friend of mine to sculpt a driver and fireman figures for my Accucraft WD Baldwin. To the quality of the example below. It will be a military Sapper driver and fireman and I wondered if anyone would be interested in a casting of these? http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/w6...

Only the white metal parts are available now. If you could produce them laser cut how much would production cost? I'm looking to have a rake of them I'm probably not going to produce any more than the three I need, as its quite a lot of work to produce the parts and from experience the cost one cou...

Anyone used Aluminium Flat bottomed Rail?
Hi All, I am toying with the idea of using actual scale looking flat bottomed rail with wooden sleepers for that realistic look. I started searching on the web and found that apart from Tenmille brass flat bottomed rail the only other supply is the USA. They also use Aluminium which considering the ...

Auction Results at National Garden Railway Show
Is there any list of what the prices Locos went for at the National Garden Rail show Heritage auction? I didn't stay for that as I had bought a loco from a trader, but It would be nice to know what certain locos went for as some old DJB Ffestiniog Englands caught my eye!

Actual colour reference for L and B and SKLR [ Bowaters]
I've recently painted an L and B carriage in the same colour as the current 'new build' and found from the L and B website that the brown is:- Deep Indian Red, I had this mixed as a Dulux oil based paint, takes a lot of drying but at least I know its the right colour! Also as a teenager I worked on ...

Accucraft WD Baldwin
I've recently purchased an Accucraft WD Baldwin [ at the National Garden Rail show] and want to add some extra details to it, has anyone found any corrugated pipe material suitable to use for the water extraction hose coiled on the back of the rear bunker? I'm guessing it needs to be about 5 or 6mm ...
