Hi all, I've let this slide a bit haven't I? :? Not much progress to report at the moment to be honest, just two things worth noting for future progress: The original coach featured further up the page is now back in the workshop for completion. An interior is being added (coffee stirrers mainly, an...

Sorry to bump this but I must thank-you Doug for this thread - I stumbled upon the coaches on eBay by mistake then thought to search here for someone who had converted them - this has persuaded me to purchase some and I'll be posting my conversion progress on my PFLR thread! I have done things a lit...

From my personal experience of building an E-Commerce website (okay, I got a free template and adapted it), I can say your wesbite certainly looks professional and well built. I wish you well in your venture and you have filled a gap in the market, if I ever get round to scratchbuilding a loco you'l...

Mainly aiming for R-T-R batches because I don't have to worry about designing a kit that other people can put together. I am using Autodesk Inventor to to the CAD work.
Makes sense - thanks for the reply. :thumbright: I have sent a PM

Sorry if you have answered this already somewhere - is there a reason you are only intending to sell them RTR? Not that it is a problem, I'm just curious! :thumbright:

Looking very nice though, what tool are you using to create those drawings?

Regards from another Dan!

Thanks again for all of the responses.

Still undecided as to what to do - although a friend suggested an R/C car clutch if such a thing is available!

I know of two preserved diesel drivers having a horn fight for a good 20 minutes whilst waiting in a yard - needless to say the residents next to the station did complain *just a little* ;) Also know of another who had to recuse another failed loco and came storming up the bank sounding like an ambu...

I thoroughly enjoy scratchbuilding, however I struggle to find the time - I have a half finished coach which has been unfinished for months now and a few buildings that got knocked over by dog-zilla and need rebuilding that I've built - however these are stalled due to time constraints. Because of t...

Re: Gearing query

Thanks for all of the responses! :) This company looks interesting http://www.ets.cz/en/drive-units/?cur=2&force_sid=f1f67d4c85647f306bed396bc1a14129&lang=1&&redirected=1 They make various 0 gauge chassis with a patent clutch mechanism which allows the loco to freewheel Now that seem...

Gearing query

Hi guys, Is there out there a motor or gearbox type thingy that allows for coasting on an electric powered loco? So when you turn the power off the loco coasts like the real thing? Would another option to have the motor and gear on a servo powered pivot that moves the motor away from the axle with c...
