Rod its really nice to see the younger generation getting involved and your grandson seems to be enjoying running your loco and hopefully a modeller in the future.

These are called Hit and Miss engines big in the States and lovely to watch running and your model is really nice.

I have finally bought my first loco kit from IP Engineering and its called the Danny 0-4-0 Loco Kit and looking forward to building this kit. If anyone on the forum has built one of these or can share some advice it will be appreciated.

Thanks Tom for explaining this to me what I could do is leave the brass so it oxidises naturally so it looks more used and not polished.tom_tom_go wrote: ↑Wed Dec 27, 2017 8:40 pm It is used to blacken metals. I am not a fan of polished brass so I find easier to use than paint and it is durable.

Hi Tom I have just finished reading this thread and you have done a stirling job on your loco build. I do really like the slow mo in the steaming of your loco.
