Ahhh you have seen the flaw in my plan to have the loco to myself..damn!....I think a wooden version needs to be made!!! Though interestingly enough, when No2 son was small, card buildings and wagons, if broken were given a quick spray with water and ironed to flatten and dried out and put together ...

I have also made a start on the train it pulls, again using boxes and parts of boxes to build up the shapes, before painting or cladding with coloure...

The cab sides are tops from smaller boxes, the saddle tank is the bottom of a small box, and the tender is the bottom of a large box with a section cut out to narrow it. Using boxes means I have strong but light superstructure with strong corners. In the past I have made coaches, vans and trucks usi...

Wire up two battery chassis
Hi I have the enclosed, with the idea of building a Greendale Fairlie locomotive using two Novo / Big big chassis. The motors were wired up for 4 x c cell 1.5v (paralell?) giving 3v to the motor. I intend to use rechargeable batteries in a holder(s) and a simple on/centre off/on switch for forward r...

Very sad news. I knew he was ex Army engineering but never knew about the music hall. He was a Gent! His locos were a wonderful work of art as well as engineering, and often took a long time to build!(sometimes to the frustration to the person purchasing them). He was always happy to chat and rememb...

They are great fun, and the parts are interchangeable with other Faller locos (good production methods..saves on lots of parts) The windows can be tricky to remove...no pulling power though, and you will need to ensure the traction tyres are good. £25 quid is a lot but seen them go for a lot more! ....
