I just realised while fitting the cylinders last night that I will not be getting the intake and exhaust tees until my boiler arrives in October so I will not be able to run her on air anyway? Is it a pain in the a*!e to remove the cylinders later on to install the inta...

Friog Punch

Does anyone have a one with R/C using the Brian Jones Mac5 unit?

Would be interested in seeing a video of its slow running ability.

Cheers,

Tom

Thanks for the posts.

Do you know what motor they use for the chassis. Is it a Bühler? Is it 3, 5 or 7 pole motor?

Cheers,

Tom

Do the new GW paints work well on wood/white metal though as I don't build resin or plastic kits for 16mm?

Cheers,

She probably has no idea how much the stuff is worth.

Might be a kind gesture to offer her some money.

I think with a few more of these placed around the line it will give it a bit more realism.

I prefer enamels as I use to be a GWer back in the day and did not get on with acrylics (2nd generation player before they ruined it!) I will give the thinners a go as suggested by Chris but will buy Revell in future I think. Hornby have really lost their way. My Bachmann OO trains completely outcla...

Thanks Chris.

I do have some Humbrol thinners so how much do I need to add to their small tinlets?

Good find Zach, a true narrow gauge railway!

If only our little monsters could make the same amount of smoke and noise :)

Humbrol paints are rubbish!

Is it just me or are Humbrol enamel tinlet paints poor these days. I have done all the usual with trying to sort them out i.e. airing them out for a day, building a mixing attachment for my drill to mix them up, storing them upside down and yet they are still poor quality. Most of my matt paints do ...

Having owned a RH SL for a few years now I can say although it's very pretty and has rivet detail, simulated drain cocks, sprung chassis, etc if I could start again in this hobby with the knowledge I have now I would of gone down the kit building route and bought a Lady Anne saving myself quite a fe...

Fat chance I would get coaches that size on my line, far too small :)

I like the colour scheme of your coaches.

So back on topic after my thread was hijacked ;) /myff/tom_tom_go/DSCN0816_zpsea4d5f50.jpg I always thought I would only ever have just one live steamer, how wrong was I :) Molly (the cat) looks annoyed because I sold the diesel chassis that was meant to have her name on it to help fund this coal fi...

Welcome to the forum.

You have the makings of a great little line there.

Very similar to what I am building (check my signature for the link).

Great minds think alike ;)
