Re: Merlins Castle Line
It has been quite a while since I have posted anything, but recently my hubby made his first scratch built train out of bits and pieces, Mamod front chimney, plastic sink drain pipe for boiler, plastic card etc. I have done a little ballast on the line in the shed and made a fence out of hair grips....

Re: Merlins Castle Line
Some more pictures, but they have come out in reverse order. The cliff now has to have more layers added. It will be interesting to see how it turns out.

Re: RWLR - Robin Wood Light Railway
Oh Tom, I just found out that you are finishing with your line, that is so sad. I haven't been on this site for long but the help that you have given me is tremendous, If it is a relief to you that is all that counts tho. Like others have said we will miss your RWLR. I suppose you will still have an...

Re: Merlins Castle Line
In August the South West Wales 16mm Group meet was at the Merlins Castle Line. The project was to make a cliff out of concrete using wire, mesh, bedsheets hessian and cement etc. It now has to be continued around and more layers of concrete applied for it to be finished. The loco was owned by Simon ...

Re: Thatched cottage - FINISHED
HI I have only just seen this thread about your thatched cottage, brilliant, and the garden and witch what a great idea. I thought I could have trimmed the broom on the cottage I built to have the proper effect, but it didn't work so I left it as it is. I used waterproof gorilla glue so it will be i...

Re: North Pilton Works?
Hi, I have just found this thread about a passenger railbus purchased from North Pilton Works not arriving. I was wondering if Roger and Gloria ever received their refunds or railbus. I have also ordered and paid for the railbus but have not yet received it. It was ordered in early June 2018 and is ...

Re: RWLR - Robin Wood Light Railway
Thanks for doing this thread Tom, I now know not to put on too much SBR and to cover it over securely. I haven't ballasted the outside track yet, but I am hoping to do so in the next few weeks. I have started to ballast inside the shed track using pva mixed with water and it turned out fine. :thumbr...

Re: Best beginners book
Hi Mikael, I am a newbie like you. like everyone says this forum and the 16mm association is the best for information. Best piece of advice I had was from Peter Butler of this forum who said Don't rush and start building, have a look around the forum and 16mm association magazines for different idea...

Re: Merlins Castle Line
Met a friend the other day,, and he handed me a little package. Inside these beautiful turntable locking levers appeared. What a work of art. Amazing hand made. I haven’t fixed them to the turntable yet They were based on an American Narrow Gauge Railway.

Re: Merlins Castle Line
The picture in the shed was bought from the well known auction site. Type in Tuscany landscape mural wallpaper and you should be able to find it. It just resembled the view behind the shed, so I was very pleased.
