I like the way you've made room for the stem of the shrub.

Re: Comparing Geared motors
Thanks Phil The pulsed nature of the speed change is accurately portrayed in the video but might have something to do with the LGB transformer/controller I'm using. Must admit though, I've not noticed the step change in speed with LGB motor blocks previously, but I'll do a bit more experimentation. ...

Clever idea to use the posh cocktail sticks as legs. I've been wondering if there is a use for them after recently buying a pack

Comparing Geared motors
I've decided to bite the bullet and produce my own motor blocks / powered chassis - after struggling to find commercially available units of the right dimensions. However, when testing my first chassis with a (c£20GBP) Polulo geared motor, I was disappointed to find that it doesn't seem to want to r...

Rik, If you want pictures of Berwyn, or 'the pigs' (the various orange painted loco's).. These are at the WHHR, and I can get/take chapter and verse, for you. Berwyn is now in the museum, for this season. Thanks Phil They're a bit too modern for me - I like the earlier diesels. Rik PS - I like the ...

It would expand your modelling horizons considerably.......... ;) Although at the rate you are going at present, you will have the diesel equivalent of Boulton's Siding soon. ** Graeme ** look up 'The Chronicles of Boulton's Siding' by Alfred Rosling Bennett. Looks fascinating. I found a copy in Go...

Re: A Ruston-ish ....
Dammit! I've just found this wonderful source of Ruston NG loco photos .... which includes, among many others, a three-foot gauge version https://www.flickr.com/photos/34938158@N02/albums/72157631038668260/with/22356322545 Plenty of inspiration here, chaps - and some clear detailing for modellers. I'll follow this with interest. Somewhat of a contrast to the conditions I'm facing in the NW of England. So far this year, rain, followed by rain, followed by even more rain.

Re: A Ruston-ish ....
Thanks Graeme. Can't think why I've not bought that book on Rustons before. I've now ordered one from the Moseley Trust. I must start making my own powered chassis. Relying on commercially available chassis does limit what I can make or, as in this case, how realistic the models appear. I do like th...

Re: A Ruston-ish ....
What surprised me is the large number of variations in the basic design of these locos, which is why I felt justified if creating yet another version.

A Ruston-ish ....
I bought another HGLW chassis and was wondering what to do with it ..... IMG_3900.JPG It's a sort-of, maybe, might be Ruston. I couldn't find a 3 foot gauge Ruston and so 'adapted' a 2 foot gauge one. I've almost got away with it. IMG_3901.JPG I think, when Ruston's did produce 3' gauge locos, they ...

Re: Atropos Rolling Stock Kits
No idea. I've just done a search on t'internet, and found nothing definitive in terms of numbering systems for miniature screwdrivers. Flat bladed all seem to be measured in fractions of mm and mm (and are colour coded). Cross head are numbered but only go from 000 to 1. I did find this on numbering...

Me too, it sounded quite blustery at that point- I was expecting any moment for the brake van to take a short-cut .....Peter Butler wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2024 9:58 am Wonderful video Trevor, proper train in natural surroundings. I was a little anxious as it crossed the trestle, though.
