Re: Workshop/shed

90% of my music consumption is streamed from either Spotify or TuneIn via a mixture of Google Home devices around the house. The hobby room and living room have them configured as a stereo pairs, I have been addicted for some time to whole house audio. It's as far as I allow my techie life to extend...

I was only listening to that today, as well as War of the Worlds. I had a bit of a personal Prog Fest.
I shall be finishing this evening with some early Genesis.

I was also there, and agree with your comments regarding the name.
I could never scratch build a steamer, but I can make some minor cosmetic changes to one of these to achieve the impression I'm after.

Re: A Quiet Sunday

Thanks fella's, This came out of frustration really, trying to decide on another loco build. Although I've added dozens more pics. to the file, still no closer to a decision. I know what I want, just can't justify it being used on my railway , GRRRR! Grant. You're not trying hard enough! Visiting s...

If you find a source for such a fitting please post the details.
A condensation tank should be easily fabricated from some copper 22mm pipe and a couple of end caps.

Re: eBay madness

Not madness, a nice looking Regner Willi. If I hadn't recently managed to pick up a Wilma I'd be tempted.

Edit: Sold within 12 hours of listing, well that a great temptation removed.

Re: New Mamod Hunslet?

The photo was supposedly of an early prototype, so if the Stirling has a pressure gauge as standard, I don't see why this wouldn't.
I'm hoping to have a chat with John (John Sutton Books) at Beds in Steam, he's expecting to take delivery of an early batch when released.

Re: Ordered me a new Brunel

Enjoy.
My Brunel is my "go to" loco if someone calls in and wants to see some live steam. Raises steam quickly, and being geared I don't have to chase it around the garden trying to get the regulator just right.

Re: bambuko loco works 0-6-2 (Fowler)

Just to add, the chassis I bought from Steve some time ago had blackened wheels, after a couple of test laps around the garden the tyres and flanges were shiny silver just as you would expect. Also when I retreat the deck boards that form my track bed I don't worry about getting preservative on the ...

I'll just pop this here! It's lifted from a post on the "16mm Mamod & Oscillator Locos - owners, collectors and Mamodifications" facebook group. Mods - please delete if you don't feel it's appropriate. I know it's a Mamod, but I oh so want one. Pricing rumoured to be £625 ish, which se...

New Mamod Hunslet?

Has anyone on here heard anything about this?
I saw a post on Facebook from the 12th September showing a preview picture of the new loco.
Supposedly based on the same chassis as the Stirling with an open cab.

Re: Welshpool & Llanfair in the states

There is someone on here who has offered a laser cutting service for chassis frames etc. even offering to produce parts from dimensioned sketches. I'm really sorry to both him and you for not remembering who it is, someone who I think moved out to one of the Nordic countries. Postage was always goin...

You can have fun with Battery power but if you can open a window I would have the odd quick run with a steamer especially if you can get a dehumidifier to collect the moisture. Don Open a window! Health & Safety gone mad. How many old Mamods used to run around the living room? Burning meths or ...

Re: Tralee & Dingle cattle wagon

Comparing your photos with the one on the IP site, I agree they're not quite the same, but they certainly share the same prototype. There's a lot of strapping detail on there, but if you went for a shallower relief like the IP photo, I would suggest they're ripe for a resin casting like you used for...

It's picture 3 that does it for me, the way the scene blends seamlessly in to the full size landscape.

Spotted this little pair at the weekend. Something to do with that Lister casting that you just couldn't resist buying at the last show you attended.
