Re: Merry Christmas

Do they still "sing" during the summer and all year or is it only during the spring? Rik They make their sound all year round. They are most vocal in the morning and the afternoon. In fact I was playing lawns bowls last Friday afternoon and it started raining and we stayed out on the gree...

Re: Building a HO-HO-HO scale christmas tree layout

Hey Dude, That is impressive; lot of work has gone into that. Have a look at how I made a tunnels and mountains on my HO layouts. It might give some inspiration for a next Christmas build. https://ringbalin.blogspot.com/search/label/Latest%20Posts https://ringbalin.blogspot.com/p/soft-rock.html http...

Re: Handy Rotating Tool Stand

It looks like the smallest ring of holes on the top would be perfect for a set of small paintbrushes :thumbup: If you inputted the "Top Level" and the "Upper Guide" into Tinkercad you could resize the holes and fill in gaps to make a paint brush stand. You could even do it to th...

Re: Handy Rotating Tool Stand

It looks good Graeme. My problem is that I know I would still just put things down on the bench in a big mess, rather thn trying to find the right hole to drop it in! I can't help it, I'm just an untidy *&%~#@! I'm hearing you Phil I have a big tool box with shaped foam insets for small tools b...

Re: Simplex 20hp Tractor

I found this while looking for some O gauge track to print https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4844519 I came across that some while ago and did think about having a go, but when I saw the picture showing the myriad of tiny parts I just couldn't be bothered, tbh! We have one at the Sugar Cane Railway...

Simplex 20hp Tractor

I found this while looking for some O gauge track to print https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4844519 It looks very similar to the one we have at the Australian Sugar Cane Railway (ASCR) The link to the webiste reveals some interesting subjects as well and the YouTube is worth a bit of a watch. https...

Re: Merry Christmas

Thank you Graeme, that is a kind thought and a lovely traditional image. Communication around the world now is so fast it shows how far advanced in time you are from us here in UK. We still have more than 24 hours to go before Christmas Day arrives here but the message is well received and much app...

Re: Handy Rotating Tool Stand

Update2;
When you print this do not use supports otherwise the screw/nut holes will fill with plastic that is a pain to get out.
Don't ask how I found that out :( :(

Re: Handy Rotating Tool Stand

Update;
I have found a problem with the stl file for the 15mm plug screw, it will not screw into the base bottom if printed as downloaded.
A comment on Tingiverse suggest that it be printed 3-4% smaller than the posted file, I scaled mine in Cura to 95% and that worked.

Handy Rotating Tool Stand

I am in the process printing one of these, I was inspired after watching "Repair Shop" and saw something similar on Steve Fletcher's bench.
I should help stop my workbench from ending up covered in tools when I am building something.

Re: Marc Horovitz is Wrong. (IMO)

I love it Miles, especially the curtains! So, is it a 0-4-2 or a 2-4-0?... Which end is the front? An 0-4-2, with driver and fireman on the open part on the front I think, based on the direction of that horn. Edit: That could be a tube for communication between the two ends, whatever that's called....
