Re: Big Maple & Little Oak RR
To get the line above snow level and to even out the line level have you considered making a raised line? Advantages; 1. All year running with battery R/C control 2. The line is level so no need for trestles etc. 3. Not as much bending and crawling round on the ground. It would be a slightly bigger ...

Re: Speeder for BM&LO
Great use of material just lying around the house. You will start to look at things differently from now on eg a butter container can be a hopper body. An example the bogies in here are scratchbuilt with styrene sheet for the side frames, clothes pegs springs and piece of mint tin for the suspension...

Re: Print nozzle driving into the print bed
New rolls of Tecor arrived yesterday and I started the production run of my coal hopper bodies. After saying that it was better than the eSun filament I was served up a big slice of humble pie. I could not get good bed adhesion at all; I tried using hairspray for the first time and that improved thi...

Re: Wallingford Industrial Rail Ltd. 7 January 2024 - Rik Bennett's Freight Manager at WIRL
As a complete novice at programming I have been working my way through a course to learn python (all that I have looked at are aimed at Data Science students)as I want to make a train location indication board using a raspberry pi. The idea being train passes a detector and that is displayed on a sc...

OK
The Kookaburra is sitting on fence right above the railway and the ibis is right in from of it (brown posts in background).
I'll see if I can snap something else.

Couple of the local natives that visit from time to time.
An oldie from last Christmas Lawn grub control contractor, aka Ibis or "Bin Chicken" because they rummage through open rubbish bins.

Re: Wallingford Industrial Rail Ltd. 7 January 2024 - Rik Bennett's Freight Manager at WIRL
Bit of thread drift for a moment. I have just downloaded Rik's program and will be evaluating (having a play) it. All part of the grand plan for the stage 6 enlargement of the layout. On another note I asked an electrical engineering student if he could mentor in learning Python and his reply "...

Re: Solder
You can walk into your nearest Jaycar and buy tin/lead electronics solder under their Duratech label, although they also waste shelf space on the other crap. It comes in various size packs, but the catalog no. for the 200g pack of 1.0mm size is NS3010. As it happens, it's cheaper than the lead free...

Re: Print nozzle driving into the print bed
I use 195 / 50 on one printer and 200 / 55 on the other, same filament as you guys. I did a heat test build and was very surprised what was actually came back as best. I would suggest doing one of these with all new filament brands. Do you use Octoprint? If so check that the hot end line isn't wobb...
