Lego wagon compatible with Tesco 0 gauge train set
Here are the files for my 'lego wagon' which requires a lego plate, Binnie wheels and axles, and the sole bars from Rik's short wheelbase Southwold van to complete. I don't think I every shared the files for this. I've now put them on Thingiverse.

Multi height couplings for HGLW LB1
My good old HGLW LB1 loco, was my first and is still my most used loco. But when I got a little PS Models Hudson Hunslet I loved the multi-height couplings and ever since felt LB1's bumpers were inferior. So when my nephews knocked the LB1 of my bridge and the buffers were damaged, I took the opport...

Re: Time to build a railway...but where?
I think badgers are the most likely culprits. They are quite active in my garden, and seem to dig at things without rhyme nor reason. I certainly avoid giving them reason - such as using the live yoghurt method for encouraging moss - especially as they are capable of quite impressive feats of destru...

Re: PDF single Fairlie
Ooh, another 50HP Baldwin - we will be able to have a proper parade of these at a South West Wales group meeting, I think this will make a third - matching the number of Kerr Stuart 4415s in the group (at least once I finally finish painting my one!) Though we're probably a way off yet matching the ...

Re: Domestic oil tank leak
I'd have thought the obvious answer would be to build a small (5" or 7 1/4" gauge) railway between the two oil tanks, and then fabricate some suitable container wagons to form a tanker train... More seriously, in your position I'd be inclined to suggest the recipient pay an oil company to ...

And now I have a big grin on my face too! It really is just wonderful to see this beast running. Fabulous.

Resin Printing & Temperature
This is a theoretical problem so far. I haven't printed anything yet with my new resin printer, but that's partly because of a note that arrived inside it, to the effect that the optimal operating temperature was 20-40 deg C. My shed was at 14C when the printer arrived and with the change in the wea...

Re: The Railway in the Valley of the Mill
Love the ground frame. Also interesting to see the hedge 'naked' as it were, makes it so much easier to see what the route of the railway beyond this point is going to be, compared to when it is fully foliaged... Of course once the line is cut and then the leaves return in spring it will become a us...

Re: Tan-y-Grisiau Station Building
This is really starting to evoke the sense of atmosphere you get from the old pictures of the original Tan-y-Grisiau. Interesting that the back isn't parallel with the front. Is that based on the real cottages? It's the station building that is that interesting wedge shape - it really was like that....

Very neat Trevor! Have I understood the orientation right - that the gas valve will be accessed from the cab opening (port side) and the gas filler vale will be accessed through the water filler chute to starboard?

Re: The (Windmill Hill) Welsh Highland Railway
Lovely pics! The passengers are lucky the season extended long enough to enjoy this. even my wife commented on that yesterday, although she did resist my suggestion that we probably ought to buy another one... "Ought to" Well quite, it goes without saying. The logic is inescapable.

Re: Volks Electric Railway
The penny finally dropped, 1:16 scale on 45mm track works out near enough to the weird 2' 8 1/2" gauge used by the VER that commercial wheels and track can be used for the models......... We measured the gauge on the models (they are not motorised and there is no track). The gauge of the wheel...

Re: Volks Electric Railway
Well, this is bad timing. Last Saturday I was at the Brighton Model Railway Club exhibition (helping out - I'm still a member - I was born and brought up in Brighton). VERA was there. As was the model of the Daddy long-legs. And these incredible models. I got chatting to Ian Gledhill and asked what ...

Re: Choosing and Using a Resin printer
I’ve ordered a Whale 2. As far as I can see 50 micron resolution is more than adequate for my needs, and the saving over the Photon M3 Plus will pay for a wash and cure station which I am sure will make a difference to my real life use! Many thanks Steve for putting me onto this deal. (I also redisc...

Re: Choosing and Using a Resin printer
That is an incredible price for a printer of that size. I am now comparing it to the Anycubic Photon M3 Plus which is a comparable size, but more expensive. However there’s possibly one other advantage besides my preference for the make as mentioned above, and that is it has a higher resolution (6K ...

I have heard very good things about the Elegoo Mars 2 Pro. Very useful to know you’d have gone bigger. Another point in favour of going as big as my budget will stretch to.

Re: Bargain for Resin and PLA+ @ Amazon
Thanks. Yes, I plan to start printing with a tried and tested resin to get the hang of things, before using - or at least trying - the free stuff. Trevor has given me a recommendation for a tough resin that has worked well in his printer. I just didn’t want to let this excuse to buy a printer go to ...
