There is not enough pressure on the cylinder covers to shear the bolts. The bolts only tighten as they compress the en...

Lovely! A very nice paint finish too.

Other than the LMS Pacifics, I can't think of any locos that have their nameplates mounted on the boiler, so my vote is "leave them where they are".

That looks like a nice line but, other than fresh air, what is supporting the track in front of the blue Katie on the freight train?

It is quite simple to make a gasket. You just need some decent quality paper cut slightly larger than the cylinder cover. Cut a hole with a compass that matches the inside cylinder diameter. Put the paper on the cylinder end and fit the cap, punching holes with and for the screws as you go. Then tri...

They will look much better if you do that. Painting the wheels black might be a good thing to do as well.

Ok, so you say you don't like any of the parties. By "Not one single party, no" I did not mean that I do not like any of the parties. I meant that I choose who I vote for based on how well I think they will benefit the area in which I live and my own circumstances, as explained in my post...

So there isn't a single party out there that you like? Not one single one, no. I vote for different parties for my MP, my local councillor and my MEP, but that is all down to where I live. If I lived in England, I would probably vote for one party for all three posts. The "none of the above&qu...

My recommendation would be do not, repeat do not, silver solder bodywork. To use silver solder the brass has to be at least cherry red, and your nice flat body panels will not be flat any more if you get them that hot. If you are really worried about a leaky meths engine melting soldered joints then...
