Ah, Lonsdaler, you are absolutely right, it was a simple slip of the tongue :D

Re: A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step...

I currently live and work in Russia, so I can only really develop this concept right now and work on it when I am home for about month every year. I don't have much money, so I anticipate this project won't get started any time soon. Thank you, guys. I decided to ground it somewhat in reality, since...

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step...

I've been hanging around and asking questions here and there for a few years now. It has always been my fantasy to have a garden railway and recently I have decided to begin the process of turning that fantasy into reality. It will be a long road, but one day the finished product will be here. Now f...

Re: New Roundhouse

I am personally rather disappointed by the announcement. Another battery loco is always a nice thing, so I cannot complain about that, especially since it's so different to the others in the range. However, I really feel that they've missed the mark with the tram loco. It says that "By popular ...

Loco Identification

I've just seen a video on YouTube as I was randomly browsing and I have fallen in love with a 0-6-0 outside-framed loco that featured in it. The video shows a name at the end, but when I Googled this I couldn't find anything, so I was wondering if anyone on here can help me identify it? https://www....

To add my two cents to the discussion, as someone who is looking to start in this hobby, I would really appreciate a lower-priced "generic" loco from Roundhouse. Perhaps something to fit between the "basic" and "classic" ranges. For me, there is a massive gap in the pr...

My goodness that is a thing of beauty indeed! May I ask how much that has cost you? Is it slip eccentric?

Looking forward to this! Hopefully it won't sell out too quickly so I can get my hands on a copy! Will it be available for pre-orders at some point?

OK so no-one likes my traction engine idea, how about this attractive engine: a Bagnall well-tank. The Bagnall-Price valve gear almost looks like the Roundhouse "simplified" Walschaert's valve-gear, and they could use their slanty cylinders, and perhaps a Katie smokebox. This thing really...

Is this to go in a musical wagon? (ie to play Christmas carols?) No, I'm afraid not. This is very much for my own personal use! @ge_rik: Sandisk have a good reputation for sound quality and reasonable prices. My problem with it is that I don't like the styling. I may have found what I am looking fo...

MP3 Players

I'm afraid that this is very off-topic for this forum. However, I am seeking some advice. I am looking for a replacement for my faithful Sony Walkman which is now, unfortunately, on its last legs. I would like to know if anyone can recommend a good non-Apple (i.e. not an iPod) PMP or MP3 player as I...

Thank you for easing my worries a little. I am a complete beginner modeller. The only experience I have is with Warhammer but that's just plastic miniatures (which look comparatively simple compared to this!), so I have a lot of angst when it comes to delving into larger more expensive and complex k...

Having a look at the instructions now. So far, so good. Cutting, filing, gluing.... Wait, what's this? Soldering and rivet punching? These two things scare me :(

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread, but I am curious as to what people think of this model now that it has been released for some time. Has anyone bought one in kit form? If so, would you describe it as beginner friendly? How easy/difficult was it to put together?

Accucraft UK Website

I just tried going on to the website to check for any news updates and before the page could load, my anti-virus software blocks the page saying that it has detected malware!

Has anyone else encountered this? I'm using BitDefender Anti-Virus Free Edition if that helps.

Thanks for your feedback. They are produced by MITV so you can get them from the MITV website, but they are more expensive. The trilogy for Railways in your Garden is £30, apparently there is also a book to go with it?

DVDs

I found these DVDs for sale on the new GRS website: Garden Railways from the Ground Up, Going British and Railways in your Garden. Does anyone have these? I want to buy them but I am not sure I can justify £80.... Are there alternative places I can go to buy them for a cheaper price? Are they worth ...
