I painted the front of my cottage today..... but..... it was the one I live in, not the model one! No matter what you say there is no way you can convince the other half that model building should be given priority. Admittedly the weather was perfect for the task so I can't complain about spending a...

Whatever it is made of it looks just right and if you blank out the shed in the background, the scene is so real.

A little more to report today.... the two clock faces are now in position..... ./myff/2023314/IMG_4186.JPG The black surrounds look less striking than the original shiny silver and the faces now sport a GWR logo (disguising the quartz lettering). I can justify this by saying the B.U.R. was at one ti...

The watches I bought came from China, freepost, and cost £2.84 each. They are still available but now priced £3.59 .... ebay... 121595581013 Whilst looking for these I have now discovered others with Roman numerals which I think I would have preferred and possibly better for you too? These are price...

You are right Rik, I have already been looking at a suitable site underneath my harbour scene to build storage shelves and protect them with a door to match the existing panelled frontage. At the moment I can just about manage but for the winter, and with new buildings already planned, I will soon b...

In my thread I mentioned the purchase of two pocket watches from China. They are new, post free and cost less than £3. each! ./myff/2023109/IMG_4171.JPG The idea is to fit them in my clock tower.... ./myff/2023110/IMG_4098.JPG ./myff/2023111/IMG_4173.JPG This is just to see them in position, since t...

The Market Hall has to be plastered between the timbers so have been thinking of ways to achieve this. I must admit to making this method up as I go along as I have never attempted it before. Firstly I scratched the plasticard surface with a Stanley knife blade to give a key, then painted a generous...

The pocket watches from China arrived in the post this morning. For an outlay of less than £6 I have two perfectly sized watch cases which I can fit on to my clock tower. ./myff/2021979/IMG_4171.JPG The first thing to do is to remove the unwanted bits and make them look right for the task. ./myff/20...

I repeat what I said earlier, that is a very neat and tidy construction and I would be satisfied with it if it was my work, well done.

Keep it coming and apologies if any offence caused.

No need to apologise, no offence caused at all, I was just pulling your string, however, I would be honoured to share your bottle any time!

I think my best advice would be to listen to your local garden centre expert when you buy your plants. I think there are so many variables involved with some plants liking specific types of soil which doesn't agree with others. My wife organises my plants as a rule so most of them do well, sometimes...

Excellent progress again, I do enjoy your posts and pictures, it all makes sense and shows how well organised you have been right from the planning stages. It may seem a long time but well worth the wait and will be a permanent feature in a cleverly used space.

Great find Phil, they look about the same height and possibly a little slimmer. I have strengthened mine in an attempt to make them dog resistant!........ some hope.
