Re: 3 D Printing 16mm models

A I have had a play with TinkerCad on my Chromebook and can export an STL file to a USB stick for printing. .....if only I read all the posts more thoroughly. I've just reread your post more thoroughly! :) and I'm not sure whether you may have misunderstood the process slightly ( forgive me if I've...

Re: 3 D Printing 16mm models

I absolutely agree with Trevor 100% about sorting out the drawing side first. It took me several attempts, separated by some months, before it 'clicked' and I felt confident enough to spend money on a printer ( all the drawing packages are free), and as I said earlier, some folks prefer one drawing ...

Re: 3 D Printing 16mm models

Several others have recommended Tinkercad, but I tried it and didn't like it I prefer Sketchup which others don't like. OTOH Fusion360 is favoured by some, so you would need to have a play and find out which one suits you. I did a basic tutorial on producing a simple window frame in Sketchup a few m...

The description is a bit odd as well. Starts off by saying it was purchased for him as a child by by his father but then later says he ran it when he purchased it!

Re: 3 D Printing 16mm models

I haven't had time to actually look properly at what is involved, although I suspect it is way beyond me ( and my computer!). However the demo's from this process of creating a full 3d figure from a 2d photo, are amazing.

It is a lovely picture but members are only allowed to enter one picture for each Gallery, so please would you delete one of your 2 from this thread. I'm sure we would all like to see more of your pictures in a thread of your own.

GTB wrote: Fri Nov 27, 2020 1:40 pm the relevant measurement is Young's Modulus
Contrary to popular belief, Youngs Modulus has nothing to do with metal, springs etc. It is in fact the definition of a corset: " Extension is proportional to load within the elastic limit"

Sorry, I'll get me coat!

Re: Live steam at a bargain price...?

Somewhat off topic, but if you look further into their website they have some amazing RC bulldozers, diggers and trucks plus a flying Chinook helicopter all at around the same price. They CLAIM that they are made in the US and also claim to have a UK warehouse.

and seeing if I can find a way of making the centre axle float up and down, while also allowing it to slide from side to side on curves. Re: Southwold coach

I still need to add some compensation to the end pivoting trucks to keep the wheels in contact with the rails over my uneven trackwork - that's quite a long wheelbase - but I've got a couple of ideas as to how I might do it. I did detail my compensated 4-wheel van a couple of years ago With slight ...
