Re: The Potters Orchid Railway
More concrete last night. 30 kgs worth. I am still amazed how little a 20kg bag goes. This railway is a black hole for concrete to be tipped into. Only once will I impose this footprint on the world we live in. I feel guilty at times. A slate wall will appear here soon. The station building is just...

Re: The Potters Orchid Railway
On her way home last night the head horticulturist and chairperson of the POR board (MAM) called into to the big green box of the evil empire last night and returned with materials and more plants. MAM is a sweetie, she presented a cute new little cactus to the POR head grafter, which was planted w...

Re: The Potters Orchid Railway
What a fabulous video that is, it's the first email I viewed on my laptop this morning and wow it blew me away so much I had to play it on the 55'' inch telly. The views are amazing and what a massive difference the front view makes. You have got to tell us how you managed that Dazza. Was MAM drivi...

Re: The Potters Orchid Railway
Dazza great video, having watched the progress of the build it was fantastic to see it all "joined-up". From a technical perspective you have the swing on the camera just about spot on nicely following the curve of the track, but will good side views :thumbright: All simply a guess and a ...

Re: The Potters Orchid Railway
Excellent video Dazza, the rock faces are just the best and the planting softens the harsh landscape beautifully. Very smooth running too. I can tell by your happy. smiling face (?) how much you enjoyed the ride! Thanks Peter, however I think there was some crud on camera wagon wheel, it sounds lik...

Re: The Potters Orchid Railway
Peter, your slate constructions was an inspiration for me to try it out and thus for time I have been wanting to make a start on the bag of chips MAM had her for some time. The build inside the box is a reminder. MAM does that as well with her pottery build recently which is yet to be fired.

Re: The Potters Orchid Railway
A wee test run of the video camera wagon last Sunday night. It is a rough video as I just turned it on and payed attention to the conversations with others and it was dark and one stall, to get the run with 12 axles steady and slow, 25-30 psi is best, but there was one stall, if the radius was grea...

Re: Llewellyn Loco Works #1
MAM's loco now has a headlight. I made a drill extension and tap extension, 8BA, a wee bit of brass angle, mill and fit and bingo, a SLR models head light was fitted. It worked a treat running last Sunday night on the Potters Orchid Railway. Looked good shining on the cuttings and tunnel walls. I a...

Re: The Potters Orchid Railway
After a day in the bike frame making workshop I sat down under the awning of the Pottery shed, tiredly contemplating the railway. MAM some time ago brought home a bag of slate chips from the evil empire's big green box. Bingo ! Off I went to get a tube of liquid nails from the workshop. Just the re...

Re: The Potters Orchid Railway
What a wonderful railway you're creating there - so much to enjoy! I think the tunnel mouth in the cutting is my favourite of the recent pictures, it looks just right... Cheers, Andrew. I just told MAM you like the tunnel, she liked that. I keep saying we are making a garden with a small railway in...

Re: The Potters Orchid Railway
Love the way that flower bed now fades into the railway scenery, so that the railway becomes part of the garden and real world landscape. Thanks Phillip, in hindsight I wish we did that as well at the other end, might still be able to do that but the space is tighter and to be honest I am in need o...

Re: The Potters Orchid Railway
At Potters Junction, MAM was making a Lasagna dish, it almost became a Bonsai pot as she was not all that happy with it. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50454444767_c9e9470c75_b.jpg Mean while as summer arrived and the shade from the trees has disappeared Captain Plod was rebuilding the top of ...

It's looking fantastic Dazza. I love the cactus planting very much. I see "Williamine" the Water Dragon is still in residence. Just wish I was able to see your line for real, but sadly that's never going to happen.... PS Hope you don't mind naming the Water Dragon.... From now on, ...

This has just appeared on youtube..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kloFGMbP6Zs Yes, that is me in the black hat, I drove out and put 974 back on the carriages at Amamoor. The footplate rider was on my shoulder while I drove out and then I fired home and we put the footplate rider in the fireman...
