Hi Andrew, How do you find they work in practice? Are they compatible with each other and do they help with stock of varied heights? Chris Hi Chris, This is Rob's quote from the Swift Sixteen website. The pin remains lose so the draw bar can be fitted or removed. There is also plenty of movement wi...

The two that look most promising for me at the moment are either the Swift Sixteen drawbar couplings ( http://www.swiftsixteen.com/productDetails.php?productID=77 ) or the Brandbright multi-height ones ( http://www.brandbright.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=33&products_id=170 ) or some combinatio...

Hi Andrew, Thanks for this update. Your line looks really smart. Very neat and tidy track. How do you fix it down and are your bricks founded on anything? I'm in the early stages of planning my own line and am very interested in formation construction techniques. What make are your turnouts? Sorry ...

I started this post on 29 July 2012 and I finished my railway exactly one year later on 29 July 2013... I know it's some months on, but I've nothing to do for twenty minutes. I never did keep a running diary of construction but thanks to my mobile phone I did take a few photos of the line as it prog...

Water boils at a much higher temperature than 100 degrees when it's in a vessel under pressure. I think you'll find that the heat required to boil water increases as the pressure rises but the water temperature remains at 100 degrees centigrade. At 100 DC water boils into steam. The fundamental pri...

Applying some logic to this.... 1, If the plastic tube does not float then the worst that can happen is it sinks to the bottom of the boiler and possibly melts to the flue while in steam. No big deal, it's only plastic and won't cause any localised warming issues to the flue. 2, If the plastic float...

SWIFT SIXTEEN

HI, You may have noticed that sales have been stopped from the Swift Sixteen website over the last 24 hours. Rob Bush of Swift Sixteen has a serious family issue that is taking most of his time and has made the decision to cease trading for a few weeks rather than disappoint customers. Rob assures m...

Please don't use any form of glue on a sight or gauge glass - you are asking for trouble.

Let us know what your problem is and we can advise you.

Superglue on glass exposed the heat WILL cause issues and is dangerous.

Like Gremlin, I've had little choice but to use 2'6" curves in my balloon loops. However I've used the Peco set 2'6" curves together with the Peco set 38" curves leading into the 2'6". Seems to work OK, not used the line much yet. I bulked at using the flexi track on any of the a...
