What's a digital watch?

I like things to stay where they are when I understand them. just because it's new doesn't mean it's better if you don't want or need it.
Hands off!!!!!

That's lovely Peter, the colours are superb. I agree with Grant about the tide mark, very convincing. I can almost smell the silt! The crane rail looks very good, is that a check rail Andrew Hi Andrew, it is a check-rail held together with plastic chairs especially made for the job. I think they we...

Brilliant detailing, just another 20 or so would make a most convincing train! Perhaps not so convincing as the VR only ever owned 15 cattle wagons, spread over 4 disconnected lines!  One (wagon) still remains in useable condition. When these lines were built, Australias total population was only 2...

Some of the Pendle Valley kits have now fallen under the knife! One was intended to be an engine shed, but I already have one as I explained earlier. So..... what to do with a building frontage with a large doorway? How about reducing its height for a start?.... ./myff/2014660/IMG_3989.JPG What ever...

Hi Jim, I seem to have missed your recent updates so have been catching up with your excellent building work. Everything is looking just right, your
weathering, planting, buildings and ballasting together make the image work.... top marks!

Well, after my knee-jerk reaction to the problem it seems to have given up now and no side effects have manifested themselves (so far). I am grateful for your advice and offers of help and can see I am not the only one who had issues with W10. Microsoft have no right to impose such things on custome...

Do you remember the quayside project? It used to look like this... ./myff/2013882/IMG_3926.JPG Since then I have bought cast wall sections from Cain Howley and re-built the structure to accommodate them.... ./myff/2013883/IMG_3997.JPG ./myff/2013884/IMG_3998.JPG With the addition of the wall section...

Hi Tom,  as far as I am aware I have taken every precaution imaginable to deter Windows 10 from invading my laptop.  The recent change, as described above, seems to be the only visible alteration to the performance, however, I am also aware of a much longer start-up time than ever before. If you thi...

Computer nightmare!

Hi all of you techies out there..... I have a major issue with my laptop! Having just returned from a few days away I have a new, and extremely irritating pop-up on my screen. Nothing has been accepted as a download and it has been switched off for days but..... this appears every few seconds..... y...

I'm sure you have identified the cure for this.... make one axle 'float' (compensate) and your problems should go away!
Long wheelbases and tight curves are not good partners.

Back to the kits..... today I concentrated on putting together some of the fencing and gates which came with the haul. They are just what I wanted as I already had a crossing awaiting gates. Other areas also looked unfinished without suitable fencing, so....... ./myff/2011785/IMG_3983.JPG ./myff/201...

Meanwhile......   a very welcome visit was made a few days ago by one of our Forum colleagues, ge-rik.   He particularly wanted to see my Emetts (some people like them!) and brought with him his video camera. Since then he has produced a film of them in action on my railway and it is available to vi...

Decided the only breed they remotely resemble is a Hereford. I'd like to load some of my cattle trucks, but I'd go broke using Schleich Herefords. The only cheap toy cows I've seen locally were some in Big W which looked like Friesians, but stood almost 6' in 1:20 scale. once packed into a cattle t...

It is always sad to hear of the closure of a garden railway and I recently heard that one I know is due to go. This is for an understandable reason, the owner is downsizing and there is just nowhere for it to go! When I heard the news I was invited to visit with a view to collecting some unmade kits...

You can see why they were rejects, but cheap is always good so well worth a try. You have made them stand proud now, much more convincing and worth the effort..... just need a dozen more now!

I applaud your determination to use real slate to make structures and have done so myself, BUT..... avoid silicone like the plague! It is not an adhesive and will certainly de-laminate when it gets wet. When you cut slate it has a light covering of slate dust which is what any bonding agent will sti...

That is the best way to look at it, you do what you want in your own space, as you gain confidence and experience it will surely grow, great start!

Hi Bazzer, don't let the time-scale be a concern, you are turning out some great builds there.
I was at the Llanfair exhibition yesterday and IP had a selection of transfers on offer. They look OK but no price was shown.
