Vintage tractor size?

Hi all, I've just come across a nice metal tractor in a junk shop. It looks roughly old enough for my 20s/30s era, but I don't know if it's the right sort of size. I can imagine a 16mm farmer sitting on the seat, but it does look a bit on the big side. Does anyone know roughly how long it should be ...

Re: RWLR - Robin Wood Light Railway

This has all gone rather well so far Andrew (should I have said that?) Yep, definitely! I'm very glad it's all going well - I was a little concerned that some of the RC problems might have been exacerbated by previous tinkering I'd undertaken... It's a shame Russell isn't much use to you until the ...

Re: RWLR - Robin Wood Light Railway

Looks like you got the chuffer slighter lower in the chimney than I managed too - it was almost flush with the top before, well done!

I'm very impressed with your progress - I hope I'm not in your wife's bad books for taking up so much of your time!

Cheers,

Andrew

Re: The Skebawn and Castleknox Light Railway and Tramway

I have been totally stopped on railway projects since February thanks to finding myself in the middle of a Church Planting effort which has absorbed a vast amount of my energy over the spring and summer. Anyway, the situation seems to be stabilizing a bit now, so I might be able to get on with both...

Re: RWLR - Robin Wood Light Railway

Two dead spiders?! Wonder how long they'd been there?! Russell lives in a plastic toolbox most of the time, so they must have been very determined little arachnids!... I added locoworks inner tanks, which I think help a little with the impression of solidity... The chuffer is one of my few attempts ...

Re: Loading bank

Is your fruit dolls house products or have you invented an apple casting machine? :D Rik's been genetically modifying fruit trees so that they actually grow apples that small. A working 16mm scale cider press is next... A lovely little scene, which reminds me of fruit and other produce being loaded...

Re: (WH)WHR Rolling Stock

Hello again! Life's been awfully busy lately, with very little time for trains, but I have managed to complete and paint the last two of my rake of five FR slate wagons: Slate wagons, last two.jpg I think I read that about one in six of the real wagons were braked, so I though one of mine ought to b...

Re: Newqidas on the Block

Those look great, you've achieved a really good finish... Lovely livery too. I've vaguely considered a couple to keep available in the storage area under the house as a sort of knockabout, ready-to-run-at-short-notice passenger train, but I think they'd dwarf all the other stock I own... All the bes...

If you search "asbestos" on the GRS website you'll find it - but they were out of stock last week!

Re: Zach Bond "Momentum Van" project

Hello! If the axle is the same size it might be a push fit. Binnie wheels push fit onto Binnie axles, and I think that worked for the zecar mechanism too. If it won't stay put of its own accord but is close I think I'd go for 5 minute epoxy, to ensure a little time to get it just right... Don't know...

Re: Vale of Fairway

I like the roof as well, what is it and does anyone supply plastic corrugated roof in 16mm scale? I think what you need is Tenmille's asbestos sheet for G1 - scales out about right for corrugated tin in 16mm. Hope I've got that right because I'm planning to buy some for a station build,,, Andrew.

Re: Semi-scale BR: a GWR mogul, kind of…

That's brilliant! From that angle you've really captured the GWR family look - and the paint finish is superb! I'm intrigued by the whole semi scale thing - I've yet to tackle rolling stock for my indoor chocolate factory line, but that's 32mm to a sort of Faller E-train/Playmobil scale (G-ish?), so...

Re: Time to build a railway...but where?

Wow, this is looking great! I love the thought that's going in to making the village look right, like it's grown gradually over a real landscape rather than being arranged in neat lines on a billiard table. I'm looking forward to seeing the roads unify it all into a single design, it'll look fantast...
