The driver is a slightly modified Schliech 'Pioneer Settler' figure, now out of production. He came holding a stetson, which I carved off, leaving a remnant to suggest he has a rag in his hand. Regards, Graeme Just as well you didn't model the driver based on the prototype in the head picture. What...

I think it was Derek (bazzer42) or maybe not.
Simple,
On 32mm for 18” prototypes
On 45 mm for 24” prototypes

I had a friend who mounted the roof in New Dehli. Caused an almighty disturbance! they refused to allow the train to depart until he got down.
Apparently it is not acceptable for Europeans.

Sorry to be late to the conversation, I don’t often read “off topic”. Paul Nilijen who posts on this forum as Pline, accompanied our small group of 3 to Darjeeling and other points several years ago. He lives in Howrah, which is next door to Kolkata ( or as the Indians call it Calcutta!) If you are ...

Re: Wet exhaust coal firing

I was hoping to find a hole size which would not expel much steam but at the same time pressure the water that has condensed at the bottom of the tube. Maybe the water tension would prevent the water expelling through such a small hole?

Re: Wet exhaust coal firing

I attach a drawing of a theoretical solution to Wet Exhaust. I have done no experimentation on my theory, and have no qualification whatsoever in the field. Per the drawing, the cylinder exhausts are joined at the lowest point by a T junction. the bottom of the leg of the T is blind but for a very s...

Re: What's your loco naming protocol?

My current build is called “Queen of the May” after my mother ( at least that’s what her brothers called her ) . The money for the DJB boiler came from her inheritance.
I once crewed on a sailboat called “ Follow Me “ have always fancied that as appropriate for a loco.

Hi Dave,
I love it when someone updates a classic!
How does revering work on your loco, and how did it work on the original design?
So you have two burners, does it produce an excess of steam?
Thanks Tim

I use Deltacad. $A 40. I find it very intuitive and you don't have to negotiate your way around a thousand 'features' that you never need that just confuse the infrequent user.

Here's something that somtime's works for me. go to a $2.00 (1 pound?) shop and buy a cheep metal ruler. Pick a spacing which will suit your purposes (every 'x' mm). Clamp a fence on your pillar drill that is spaced the distance from the bit to the inside of the angle (or edge if piece to be drilled...

Have found someone online who will laser-cut the cast iron filigree panel above the door - as with all my constructions, the panel is 'inspired' by the original If you are adventurous & can live with the thickness, this may be a solution. Results look pretty good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?...
