Re: Beginners' guide to 3D printing

Only comment I've got on that otherwise excellent guide, you don't need adhesive 99% of the time. I don't use it at all on my 3 soon to be 4 printers. Level the bed, fine tune your bed temperatures and you'll be fine. I find the hotter the bed, the more likely your part is to stay attached.

Re: Laser cutting info for modellers

ABS and Styrene are both on the list I do not cut on my laser. At all due to Chlorine issues. I can 100% assure you I can not get wood and plastic for £1 a KG (try 2-40 a sheet!) so the maths would be vastly different. And such maths I would not want to go into as that's effectively commercial infor...

Re: Book of 16mm Accucraft Rolling Stock drawings

Now Accucraft UK have decided that they will not be producing any more RTR rolling stock I am exploring the possibility of producing a book of the drawings that my late father, Donald Pearse, did for our Accucraft UK carriages and wagons. I have been asked many times about the possibility of supply...

That’s your lot. The final 2 internally designed 16mm kits for a period (to be reviewed in a year) although there are a couple of exceptions but they’re SKLR related kits. https://i.ibb.co/BshSGkL/BMZ-000S.jpg New from Bowaters Models, the Snailbeach hoppers! Re: Sierra Leone Railway coaches?

Not that I know of bar possibly a scratch aid from Wosley Works. I know I'm planning one from Bowaters (probably one of a couple of 16mm releases next year at this rate) as Gauge one coach designs allow more and more creative design work to be undertaken as new designs are proven.

Re: Gauge One Rolling Stock in 1:32 scale

Another month, another coach. This time the last Restriction 0 Maunsell Coach which brings the number to five. Just need to paint it to match the others then it can go and run at GMES at the next open day with the schools hopefully or maybe the radial. I've also drawn up the Hastings unit (not actua...

Re: Gauge 1 ‘project’

Looking great! I know I'm talking about getting a project based SR Q class built which would be nice to see but that's for next year.

Can't wait to hopefully see it in the flesh!

Re: Buying a 3D printer

Another vote for the Ender 3 v2. In fact I have 3 with plans for more once I've worked out where I'm going to put them in the workshop! Great machines. Re comments about winding the beds all the way down, I only did that for the first auto home then levelled the bed as intended. I did however have t...

Re: Gauge 1 ‘project’

I’ve currently got no g1 stock so will have to borrow something to pull, feels like it’s got some go though, doesn’t even flinch if you try to press against the wheels while it’s running. 'Cheeky mode' I know someone who can help with the gauge one stock. Just ask Matt as he's got some of my stuff....

Hi,

Don't know much about it if I'm honest. I think its a Orion Models one but its been heavily modified. Belongs to another member.

If you want another gauge 1 challenge?

I am after a string of MGR wagons.. ;)

About 17,ought to do it, I reckon!?

Phil.P
If that's a firm I'd order 17, then drop me a message. Cause that number would make perfect sense to do a kit of :)

Thanks for all the comments everyone! Wow! Absolutely stunning. I'd love to see a video of them trundling, or should that be whizzing, round behind a Schools class or similar. Rik Funny you should mention that........ While the 5 Coach compartment coach set were the main runners, the corridor coache...

After another mass painting session, more stock has now been fully finished. https://i.ibb.co/yYFDjfS/IMG-0229.jpg The Maunsell Coaches are now Olive Green which looks absolutely stunning. Although I do think I need some more now as just 4 is a little lonely. Good job I've got some Restriction 1 mau...

Re: My First Aster - A Schools

Does it run better in reverse rather than forward? I ask because many of your pictures show it going tender first. Sadly, it seems a lot of steam engine models run better "the wrong way"! All of my engines run better backwards for some reason. The reason in the earlier images it ran const...

Hi, 20210724_170119.jpg20210724_170119.jpghere are some photos of the one coach i've printed so far. I must now give a shout out to a guy known as Robertino who very kindly posted the files for it on Thingiverse. Re: Running at Guildford Model Engineering Society

April and May 2021 are covered together. While the Schools and Shunters saw a lot of running at the April open day, the schools steaming issues were becoming more of a issue and it wasn't until the GMES delayed christmas barbecue in June with another member gave it a MoT completely transforming its ...

Re: Running at Guildford Model Engineering Society

Again due to lockdowns, not much more club running until the end of March when the Schools went down for its Boiler test and some extended running. Again, the issues re steaming weren't quite known at this point with it being suspected to be needing running in. Its only with heavier loads did the is...
