Re: The Potters Orchid Railway
Love the way that flower bed now fades into the railway scenery, so that the railway becomes part of the garden and real world landscape. Thanks Phillip, in hindsight I wish we did that as well at the other end, might still be able to do that but the space is tighter and to be honest I am in need o...

Re: The Potters Orchid Railway
At Potters Junction, MAM was making a Lasagna dish, it almost became a Bonsai pot as she was not all that happy with it. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50454444767_c9e9470c75_b.jpg Mean while as summer arrived and the shade from the trees has disappeared Captain Plod was rebuilding the top of ...

It's looking fantastic Dazza. I love the cactus planting very much. I see "Williamine" the Water Dragon is still in residence. Just wish I was able to see your line for real, but sadly that's never going to happen.... PS Hope you don't mind naming the Water Dragon.... From now on, ...

Re: The Potters Orchid Railway
Planted out Potters Junction yesterday, we finished in the dark. Best time to plant is late afternoon, less plant shock. That is it for major planting. Now it is just fun details to do and fill in with buildings and see how the plantings go. The annuals will be replaced next season and the perennia...

Dragons also like cheddar cheese, or l...

Re: The Potters Orchid Railway
Last night Captain Plod was off to mix some soil and fill in some more spaces ready for planting out this weekend, however the head horticulturist of the POR noticed Mama water dragon laying eggs on the very top of the Potters Junction tunnel, so labour was switched to laying track in the siding/st...

Re: The Potters Orchid Railway
After four days of Steam for me and MAM chasing trains for four days, MAM was keen to run her engine, so we did last night. The plantings are coming along as well as can be expected. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50433488771_05f1f68dcc_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50432796048_22c...

Some nice photos Dazza. The video is brilliant also. Just love that Rattler.... :thumbright: My grandparents retired to Gympie circa 1975 after selling the Boonah farm and I had many visits to stay in Butler street Gympie which is not far from the yard. I would wander down and watch trains, visit t...

Re: The Potters Orchid Railway
MAM found a plant last night that needed a home, so technically the planting has began at Potters Junction https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50394754533_8e2ddf9280_b.jpg We have this native grass that grows in tufts and seems to be able to happily grow in oven baked clay and or gravel. It was sel...

Re: The Potters Orchid Railway
The last large rock is in, sifted soil and mixed many barrow loads and deposited into place. Planting will begin soon but not just yet, because next weekend we are in Gympie for 4 days of steam operations. MAM will take her paint box, some boards and pencils and camera. I will be lighting up a few ...

Re: The Potters Orchid Railway
The POR plantings are moving along nicely which pleases the directors on the board. Some of the slower growers are dwarfed by others but with the passage of time they will rise to be quite large and over look the others . https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50391292541_da1a863736_b.jpg https://live...

Nice photo of MAM trying a new technique Dazza. Looks very impressive. What are you thinking of using that for please mate. :thumbright: MAM wanted to make a building, it might be pub. The buildings are not scale models, more whimsical than to scale and that is the feeling we desire. More pics soon.
