Looks wonderful. If I hadn't known I would never have guessed that it isn't in the garden.

Peter,
As others have said, I'd try contacting Andy at Micron, before you waste too much time experimenting. Explain the symptoms and it may ring a bell with him.

Re: Ballasting for moss Growth
So it doesnt matter what the Ballast is made of as long as its in a shady area? Correct, but it needs to be shady and damp , and depending on the local conditions in your area may take a year or two to get going. i.e if you live in a generally mossy surrounding area, there is a much higher chance o...

Re: Welsh Highland Railway "rainbow" trains
What sort of shades would you expect? I always imagined the pink so be a subdued pale pink and the blue to be a similar baby blue colour? Would that be typical of the time? I can't quite go back that far ( feels like it though!), but I do remember internal room walls painted in a slightly greenish ...

Just in case you missed the announcement, a little while ago we were able to increase the picture file limit up to 6 per post, if that makes things any easier for you?

Full marks for perseverance Rik.
Both of those look OK-ish but still a lot of cleaning up needed, not sure it is giving overall better results than PLA though?

Thanks, unfortunately the forum software won't display .tif files, but I've downloaded it and this is it converted to a jpg screw mount.jpg I can see what your problem is and it isn't uncommon, I've seen the same thing myself many times. I'm not aware of any commercial repair kit unfortunately, becau...

Re: Introducing the "Bumblebee Light Railway"
Welcome Peter.
As Rik says, that is an impressive start and a great foundation for the future.
Please feel free to ask questions if you need to, somebody is bound to have an answer!
By the way, well done also for encouraging the bees.

Graeme,
"arockstone" is a quite well known SM32/G Scale designer/contributer on Thingiverse, with a range of wagons and track components. Both Rik and I ( and others) have printed versions of his little diesel loco.

Not wishing to hijack the thread even further, but this triggered a thought in my mind, so I just went down the garden and, for the first time in I can't remember how long, I bent down and looked through the Lower Bench waiting room windows... the fire is still burning after 4 years of 24/7/365 oper...

That is superb.
I can totally understand how satisfying you find it. I get great pleasure out of fiddling around with things like that myself, even if nobody else ever really sees it.

Re: First scratch-build - signal box
That is excellent and even more so for a first attempt, well done. As for using drinking straws, even if you can find the right diameters I think you'll find them a bit flimsy and difficult to work with. I use styrene tube and 1/2-round extrusions from Cornwall Model Boats. They come in a variety of...
