Looks very workmanlike, Michael. How will you support the modules, or will they just be on the ground?

Re: Garden Railway Gallery - a POLL, please read.

I'm sorry if it has come across that those who post photos and vote appear to be part of a clique. It certainly doesn't feel that way to me. The competition is open to everyone on the forum and anyone is free to vote. I'm not a competitive person by nature and am not particularly interested in winn...

Re: Garden Railway Gallery - a POLL, please read.

Following Jimmy's thoughts on categories and subjects, I thought it might be useful to look at the 'stats' for previous Galleries. So these are all of the subjects, number of entries and total number of votes cast: "My Railway" 11 entries 41 votes "Railway scenery" 12 entries 41 ...

Re: Garden Railway Gallery - a POLL, please read.

I do like the idea of a rolling stock "type" (age/power/build/etc) category, as an alternative to railway scenes i.e. set piece dioramas, and for those of us that do not buildings or many people because we like to just "run" trains. Just a quick comment on this. Whilst i do unde...

That is exactly the same for me, just that my staged scene was less inspired than yours!

Seriously, would everyone who reads this, please read my POLL thread and vote!

Garden Railway Gallery - a POLL, please read.

The Quarterly Galley has been running in it's present incarnation for a couple of years now. I'm quite happy to continue to run it as I have been doing, however, looking at the figures, I have to ask whether it's worth the effort. What I mean is that there is a small pool of members, a dozen or so, ...

On the subject of battery packs, is this the correct one for my Roundhouse Billy. It the same has the one I have now, a 4 cell with the Futaba plug. The one I have doesn't have any readable information on it unfortunately......it does have NI-CD though I think. I can't answer as to whether it is ac...

I recognise that fencing!!!

Did you have any problem with printing it? Is it PLA or ABS?

Yep, been there, done that, etc. Thats why I printed it out as a handy guide... With me, I keep forgetting to plug in both the charger leads AND the balance leads, with LiPo's.

Re: Charging

You need Rik's guide to the Imax B6 https://riksrailway.blogspot.com/2017/05/quick-introduction-to-imax-b6-charger.html I printed out the relevant bits and keep it with the charger, it's invaluable. However, if the batteries are completely flat and haven't been used for 18months or so they may be be...

I have attempted to send you a PM in reply, but at the moment it seems to be in "outbox" rather than "sent messages" so I am unsure whether it has transmitted to you? That is a quirk of the system I'm afraid, it fooled me for a long time as well! Once 'sent' a PM sits in your Ou...

Absolutely brilliant Phil, thank you so much for the complete saga. I'm sure we would all love to read further accounts for a long time to come, but like all good things, it has sadly come to it's end :) and I for one can't wait to read of his Antipodean activities in due course. I would echo Phil's...

You can if you copy the BBcode and paste it directly onto the forum. Just done this now from my Flikr gallery. Would it still take up a lot of storage though Phillip or not. It is easier I think than the one I used for my Patrica Anne thread. Thanks Rod. Pictures hosted on a 3rd Party site such as ...

Re: PATRICA ANNE TENDER BUILD

That filler primer is fine. I think I have used that in the past and it seems to be the same as the Halfords one ( prob just a branding thing). You mentioned your final red colour being a bit off what you were expecting? If you put it straight over this yellow that probably explains it. Ideally you'...

Re: PATRICA ANNE TENDER BUILD

which primer does Peter recommend for PLA? Can't answer for Peter, but I mostly use Halfords grey rattle can primer. I use the plastic version if I've got any, but the ordinary stuff works fine - I can't say I've ever noticed any difference. I also use the £1-a-can stuff from the pound shop sometim...
