Probably not the sites you were looking at Andy, but the model boat suppliers certainly have working/non working blocks and cordage if that helps.

Small details to the loco, I'm envious of your mug with a design on the side. It's the little things that make a railway.

Peak detect, or Delta Peak Detection, to give it its full name, is just the method by which many battery chargers know when a battery is fully charged. It results from the fact that as the battery is being charged, the voltage rises until it plateau's, The Delta Peak. The voltage then drops slightly...

Nice video, the loco certainly moves at a nice scale speed. It's good that your railway has a job to do, looks very business like.

Great photos James , line has settled in nicely. I like the first shot, passengers waiting for their train, only to find a coal train pulled up!
I imagine it won't be long before you'll be out with the shears cutting back the MYOB.

A white faced Heron got one, then cats got eleven, but I found one on the ground still alive, despite the sun and various puncture wounds where the cat had played with it. Put it in the water, gently eased the air out of it, and it's the on...

I believe that frogs are supposed to be a good indicator of a healthy eco system, Peter. Your pond must be a good clean environment. I think there is a fairly high attrition rate with tadpoles and young frogs, specially if you have a good bird population.

Brasso, Silvo, and toothpaste are my three go to's for polishing, particularly clear acrylic (ie windows in modelling) I have large sheets of acrylic(Perspex) that are quite scratched, but find a quick polish with Brasso makes it brand new. I find Brasso the more coarse medium, with toothpaste the f...

Welcome back Peter, and good to see you have not been idle.  Having been involved in building maintenance, every time I see a slate roof on an elderly building in England (on Television when the baddie climbs to the roof to jump) I can't help thinking of roof drainage and the potential for water ent...
