Yeah, thanks. I'll wait until you've got yours and confirm if it works, before beating my brains any further!

Re: Cheapo diesel sound card

Very odd, I will try it again I just bought one for 40p (plus P&P), but they should be £7.27 (plus P&P) at the moment. No idea what's going on. If not just do a search for RC Diesel Engine Simulation Sound Module 5-8.4V Input 2W Small Horn Speaker For Remote Control Car Boat Airplane DIY Mo...

Re: Cheapo diesel sound card

Except it says it can't be shipped to the UK.. Phil.P I must be special then? :dontknow: akiexpress1.png Steve, whats the link for that one then? The previous link was only 40 pence, reduced from £35!! I'm just thinking it might go in my little German diesel, although the blurb says it needs to be ...

Phil.P
Sadly, most things that I look at on Aliexpress, say they can't ship to UK ( no idea why not?), although I did actually manage to buy a motor from them yesterday- first thing I've ever managed to get!

Perhaps you mean Bob Symes? His full name was actually "Robert Alexander, Baron Schutzmann von Schutzmansdorff" Bob Symes was a lovely fellow. We had him to judge our club modelling competition many years ago. Because I won 2 or 3 sections, after he presented me with the cups, he wh...

Re: Gmeinder & Co loco

I've been fiddling about with the details, it's amazing how many there are on two or three not brilliant photo's, once you really start looking! Anyway, this is where it is as of now: I've tried to produce an animated gif using Gifcap, having seen what others have done in the past, but I can't find ...

We do get similar queries posted about this company from time to time, but I have no idea what the problem is, I'm afraid.

March 2024 Gallery VOTE HERE

The most entries we've ever had this time, and some really brilliant shots! So thanks to everyone who entered. :thumbright: So having said that, now please cast your votes for the picture that you think best fits the theme of "Animals on my railway" - and personally I have no idea how or w...

Brilliant, but Arduino and libraries etc, are beyond me I'm afraid - that is no criticism of your English, which is equally brilliant. :D

Yes, thats about what I was thinking as well, thanks, just wondered if anyone else might see something different.

Can't help with the IP one ( I didn't actually realise they did one) but there are pictures of my 3d printed one on the thread I did at the time.

Re: HGLW loco tweak

It's looking a lot better, but it's never going to be a Rolls Royce finish, methinks?

Every time you post a picture I'm struck by how visually similar it is to my Gmeinder. It will be interesting to compare the two once they are both finished.

Re: Gmeinder & Co loco

Looking again at the website that Rik linked to originally, I realised that there is a picture of the loco and its train from the far end. It's a long way away and little detail is visible, but there is definitely an opening which equates to the radiator grille at the front but seems to have a solid...

Re: Gmeinder & Co loco

Been fiddling some more... Now have the makers plate on the rear bonnet side, the bell, radiator cap and a "blackout light". I'm not altogether happy with the light, but its a really complicated 3d shape and this is the best I could come up with so far. I might have another go at it in the...

I would expect they wouldn't have kept the blackout lamps fitted during peacetime operation, unless perhaps Peckforton was home to a secret military base.
Doing some searches there are quite a few preserved vehicles which still carry them ( as you might expect)

Edited to add, that I've just found a taillight on ebay manufactured by the same company and I just wonder if that is the red blobs? Logically they could have needed rear lightt as well .Take a look at https://www.ebay.ca/itm/385685812805?itmmeta=01HQNNM689K8G5RD7KB7K94K9K&hash=item59ccaa7645:g:...

Thanks Drew, that's brilliant... I'm sure that is exactly what it is. Putting the two pics side by side, it couldn't be anything else. blackout lamp.jpg Heaven knows how to draw that shape, but I'll give it a go and then, with the filler cap in front, worry about the red blobs later! I've jusrr foun...
