I have another Rx unit still to fit so I need to decide which loco will be the next recipient.... I'll post a progress report.

The last entry I put on this thread was dated Jan. 2nd. This was because immediately following that date my whole family (four adults) came down with real flu which knocked us all out for a couple of weeks. In my case this graduated into pneumonia, resulting in an eight day spell in hospital. I have...

My own van was designed for use with any train combination... in the guise of a box goods vehicle. Only when I had made the unit and tested it on the track did I discover I had built a speaker cabinet which amplified the sound from the flywheel. I made a small housing first to cover the Zecar which ...

With some basic workshop equipment it is a simple matter to construct stock boxes, as simple or complex as the mood takes you. I make a wooden (6mm ply) box for every item of stock so that they are all protected for storage or transport to exhibitions etc. Each one is glued at the corners, glued and...

I first became aware of this at the Warley NEC Exhibition three years ago and was so impressed by the demonstration I bought stencil and compound on the spot. It is an effective way of producing a convincing wall finish quite quickly and easily, especially on flat surfaces, although shapes should be...

Result!!!!! I don't know where to begin.... the Rx has been installed in two of my locos to test the effectiveness of different component motors and batteries in the system. The control over these locos is just amazing, particularly for their slow running. The 'inertia' control is something I though...

Perhaps theres someone local who could visit and have a look There was a brilliant young man in our village who has resolved all of my previous IT problems. He was so helpful and supportive I could rely on him for all of these issues. Notice I say, 'was'...... unfortunately he was killed in a motor...

Aaaaaarrrghhhhhh!!!!!!!! What now? The 'step down' issue is back. When I select any subject on the Forum, within seconds the whole page drops and several lines of text seem to disappear beneath the bottom of the screen. This has been a problem with Google Chrome (and still is) but it seemed to go aw...

I am no expert on this matter but my advice to you is not to cut expense on your track... in the future you might well change your locomotives, your stock etc.... but, your track is the most permanent fixture you will have and you will rely upon it for satisfactory running. Any track faults at this ...
