Re: Jynn: a 7 1/4" gauge wren

Hammerite is garbage paint these days, it will just flake off! I found these guys that supply smaller tins but it is listed as 'tinted', does that mean it is a mixed colour to order? https://paintersworld.co.uk/7300-combicolor-smooth-metal-paint-1?gclid=EAIaIQobChMItd6Vp4yE7AIVCuntCh3WDgfnEAQYAyABEg...

What about the cylinders as they get hot, same paint type?

Thanks for helping!

Re: Jynn: a 7 1/4" gauge wren

New van colour looks good.

Did you use the same paint range of the gloss colours you used as I can only find gloss type paint from the manufacturer you mentioned?

Hi Nomis,

What colour did you use on the chassis of your loco as it doesn't look like a gloss colour to me?

Use the screws on the wood then tack the felt down afterwards with galvanised roof nails.

Re: Farlington & District Light Railway

I painted the pressure treated wood gravel boards I used as a base for my raised railway and then covered them with roofing felt, worked well. I would recommend you use stainless steel or external grade screws as when it came to take apart the railway the general purpose screws I used were all ruste...

Re: Changing of a Roundhouse Silver Lady - Steamy Clare

I finally got round to adding the fireman although this required some reworking inside the cab (can you spot what has been moved?): IMG_20200905_162002-01.jpeg IMG_20200905_162151-01.jpeg IMG_20200905_162209-01.jpeg IMG_20200905_162256-01.jpeg IMG_20200905_162533-01.jpeg IMG_20200905_162544-01.jpeg ...

Rather than using a brush maybe try a broom (no more bending down).

Re: Zach Bond "Momentum Van" project

When I built mine years ago I had to weigh the wagon down a fair bit to achieve a good result:

I don't have a video of the finished wagon running unfortunately.

Re: Diesel Outline...

Lovely Dave, runs very smooth. I like the clicking noise as well.

The mechanical lubricator on my 5" gauge loco is of the clutch type which although works well I am concerned longer term it will fail and I will end up with seized cylinders!

Don,

You can produce track plans for free (limited use) using AnyRail software, very easy to use.
