Hi Jim,
Just a thought, if you can't get a Cheddar Models tender could you adapt a MSS/Mamod tender? I think they go for about £45.

Hi Cheshire.
In my experience, I would recommend an Essel engineering chassis or a Roger Hine chassis. I have loco's built by both of these and they are well made, powerfull, and durable. Hope this helps.

Hi Jim, somewhere in my back issues of 16mm today there is an article on how to use/reconfigure the Y points as normal L/R points. When I get a moment I'll see if I can find it.

I have a large shed 17x10 but only have use of about half of it as the other half is allocated to domestic use and a workbench. In my old house I had a 8x6 shed and the railway was a bit of a tail chaser! Two more sections to build and lay track on and I'll have a complete circuit. Like your railway...

Thank you everyone for your help and advice, it's much appreciated. I've charged the loco using the Axtronics charger and it charged fine. I think roundhouse supply a different charger to the one shown in the manual.

Hi Tom Tom,
It's a Axtronics Smart Charger model No H01440005-XX-D1. I'm wondering if they have upgraded the charger and not the manual.

Little John Charger.

Hav'nt run my Little John loco for a while, gone to charge it up this morning and like a fool I've mixed the charger up with some others, think I've found it but it dos'nt bear any resemblance to the one in the instructions. Anyone know if the charger supplied is different to one illustrated?

I bought some really cheap wooden sleepered, brass railed track, which was cheap because the chairs and sleepers were past it. Cleaned up the rail and resleepered it with tenmille sleeper strip. Worked out about half the price of new tenmille track. Only problem was finding correct fishplates.

The black plastic track was also made by Timpo for there train sets. Very similar to Big Big but looks better!

I'll have to try some of these other methods I think! Getting back to soldering rail sections together, I noticed on the Ffestiniog that two rail sections had been welded together, so they had a similar problem!

Hi Jim, They are the same height, the problem is the differing rail sections. I use tenmille track with peco points. Years ago I had several sections of the two types or rail silver soldered together so that I could join the peco to tenmille. Maybe they could be soft soldered together? Hope this hel...
