Oooh, I like the new bogie open, and the bogies that sit underneath them...
I don't need a turntable but I was playing my usual "how would I fit a railway into this garden game" at my in-laws this morning, and it would fit the scenario I came up with there beautifully...
Cheers,
Andrew.

Hello again, With plenty of work to do bringing the railway up to scratch I thought the Permanent Way Department could do with some assistance. I quite like building a quick kit between lengthy scratchbuilds too, so over the last week or two I put this Swift Sixteen kit together: http://i35.photobuc...

You have your wife locked in a tunnel! Oh my goodness, I fear you may be in trouble! That's the least of the (WH)WHR's problems today! This morning my neighbour and I got stuck into replacing the broken fence. I'd hoped to retain the ivy that covered the panel that stood behind Penlan statio...

Hello again, Today I received my RH Bertie back from Rhos Helyg. It had been rostered for services on Good Friday, but the Royal Mail had other ideas so I ended up collecting it from the sorting office this morning. Luckily my new employer deem it necessary to give us a 5 day Easter weekend (and who...

Yes, I think it is also too shiny. Yes, I agree with you both, and I really like weathering, BUT, the loco's named after my late mother-in-law and it doesn't seem quite right to cover it in grot! That's why I chose the dark green and yellow colour scheme - I thought it looked like an army loco, and...

Hello again all! I'm really very grateful for all your suggestions - I've tried most of them to the best of my ability but in the end had to ask for professional advice... I've just received the loco back from Tony at Rhos Helyg where the dodgy timing and one or two other problems have been resolved...

Hello all, It's Easter weekend and the sun's shining - time for a train! I had the additional incentive that a large part of our garden fence is down, opening up new views of the line, both from our garden and from next door's - with their permission of course! Margaret checked that the line was cle...

That's very neat! I'm tempted to try it at my upper terminus where the point at the entrance to the loop is in a very awkward location. It looks like it would work brilliantly for 90% of my operations but would rule out passing trains there by running one straight into the loop while another is in t...

Hello! Glad you like my efforts! I feel I ought to clarify that the back stories you've been enjoying relate to the original figures - I've not been crafting strange science fiction epics linking the goings on a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away with those of inter-war Snowdonia. Although I am...

Hello again... This week I've been painting the figures for the WHR Summer Car. I've done loads of these before, but I'm still surprised how long it takes... Here's a pleasingly surreal view of work in progress. The plate and knife in the foreground are not the remains of my dinner (I'm lazy, but no...

Thanks for the comments chaps, much appreciated. Yes, I've been dressing up my little Regner a fair bit, and there's more to come - I've got a tender under construction and it will gain a new coat of paint at some point too. I figured that because it would never look much like anything that ran on t...
