Re: North Avenue Line
Remember to make bag for the top of the lighthouse so that sunlight shining back through those lenses does not have an unfortunate effect on your lighthouse. I am sure that you started a camp fire, or fried beetles using a magnifying glass in your yoof. Cheers, Peter in Va Never did beetles Peter, ...

Re: A Garage For FWLR
Hi Phil, it does work...Thanks. Although for the amount that I would be using, £9.45 + £3.00 p+p is a bit to much I think to pay. I have also looked at the foil that you can buy and blooming heck it's expensive. But thanks again for taking the time to find and put the link up. :thumbright: :thumbrig...

Thanks Phil, but I couldn't find the site that had the roller for £8.50. But I did find this site with a program for 3D printing some in for clear sheets. But I suppose the y could be any colour. Pity I don't have a 3D printer...........  Any offers.......... ;) ;) Whoops, forgot to put t...

Other Gauge Stuff
While I was looking on a shopping site for middle Daughters Craft Site. I came across this. If I was doing OO gauge model rail I would have bought this. They do have others also. https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/537362572/oo-gauge-double-track-bowstring-bridge?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_typ...

My brain isn't at it's best at the moment Andrew...I have no idea how this is working...How the heck do you use a dummy battery to get it to run at a more reasonable pace.. No doubt mate you will explain it to this simple soul....   You are quite right Andrew, it is a busy ...

Re: North East Victoria Railway
I think it's important not to think of quality in terms of, say, a 2D colour Laser Printer, unless you are a professional with a super quality machine. It's also important to be aware that it isn't necessarily the right tool for every job. If you followed my previous ramblings, you'll know that I h...

Re: A Garage For FWLR
Nice start Rod, it is always encouraging to see people trying new methods and writing them up. It looks like it will be bit special when finished, perhaps you may give Mr Butler a run for his money. Thanks Jim. Although I may need a few more years practice at it...   to get to Peter...

Re: A Garage For FWLR
Looking good! I like the overall shape of it - it's got a 1920s/30s feel to it, maybe? What sort of corrugated sheet are you using? I need to buy some soon, my last lot was from Tenmille, which was OK but quite expensive... Hi Andrew, I have used some Bole Laser Craft sheet. It is just a little bit...

Thanks Jake. Yes I will stick with people who know what they are doing..... Although I do have an engineering background and it was in CNC programming as well as the setting and making side of it and I have loads of time on my hands, I may consider looking at a course and see how it works.......

Re: A Garage For FWLR
I must mention the brilliant help I got from Peter Butler and bazzer52. Especially Peter, who gave me the encouragement to use Plasticard. I do admit I was very sceptical or was it more scared of trying it. Well done Rod, great start. Good to see you enjoying the HIP material, it is by far the best ...

Re: A Garage For FWLR
Looking good Rod. Plasticard/HIPS is great to work with, isn't it? Thanks Phillip. it is so easy in some ways to knock up some kind of building fairly easy. It only took me 50 minutes or so to get the four sides cut out, up and glued. And with the stuff that Peter advised me to use, you don't end u...

Keep you fingers clear of the blade and show us how it develops. The model or the War wounds? :? :D A really great looking model, Rod. I wish my first efforts had been as accomplished. Those stained wooden doors look particularly effective. Rik Thanks Rik, that's given me more encourageme...

Re: A Garage For FWLR
Has requested by Simonwood, here is something that I am not 100% happy with. While I was doing the office. I did it in 1.5mm card, bit of a mistake. It should have been 2mm at least I think. Reason being, I didn't realise how easy it is to start to curl when I was scribing the boards, so I put anoth...
