There is a picture on this thread: http://gardenrails.myfreeforum.org/ftopic7599-0.php Not my pic but I knew it was there! The only problem with "pictures" is that they're notoriously inaccurate for colour reference. Different lighting conditions, angles, camera's, computer displays / pri...

Foam's good and weatherproof ~ the "ultra low relief" row is just a sheet of foam, while the grey "back-to-back terrace" is sheet foam construction with a plastic roof and resin shop fronts on the street side.

Sorry Dan, I've been through my library but can't find any reference to the actual colour - I'd second the suggestion to try the W&L direct, they're usually very helpful :D

Re: Show Us Your Kettle!

I dunno if there's going to be a "Christmas Quiz" this year (since it became the [dis]Continuous Quiz  ), but here's a little project for the holidays ;) The "Good and the Bad" can be used in a Sticky to show what to look for, and the rest should give newcomers an idea of ...

Show Us Your Kettle!

I dunno if there's going to be a "Christmas Quiz" this year (since it became the [dis]Continuous Quiz  ), but here's a little project for the holidays ;) The topic of hard & soft water keeps cropping up, and what to use in the loco boilers, so........ Post a photo of the inside o...

I heard you the first time  The thing is, at this time of year in the UK, the garden just isn't at its best for any sort of "showcase" filming, nor is the weather conducive to spending the hours it takes out there to produce the sort of "film" you're advocating ;) I thorough...

Many thanks for the info :D We're just about to set off gigging for the weekend, so I'll say here and now that portability is a must. We often end up in the middle of nowhere, well away from light polution where the night sky looks amazing compared to home - a 'scope would be marvelous in those con...

Warhammer 40K Wanted

My nephew has shown an interest in Warhammer 40K ~ I'd like to seize the opportunity to try and surgically remove him away from the Xbox and get him into modelling (who knows, the first steps might lead him eventually "onto the rails"??) He's building up his army and I want to get my own s...

It seems to me that you really are getting into this "blind", so my best advice would be to get along to somewhere (local track / garden) and actually see some loco's running. Trust me ~ it'll answer loads of your questions (and spark off loads more ;) ) and chatting to owners face-to-face...
