IP Engineering Jane burner

Greetings,
Does anyone know if the meths burners on IP Janes were soft or silver soldered?

Thanks,
Paul

Very nice!

Keith, I will be interested to watch the build of a Matheran. Will it have radial axles? Perhaps even a meths fired pot boiler?

Brian, neither of my mid 80s Roundhouse locos snap open and shut, and both have original safety valves... I have fitted all my 'modern' Roundhouse locos with miniature pop valves from a supplier here in the U.S. and that has made a marked improvement. They open and close with a snap and some emit a ...

A good demonstration of Mamod pulling power! And, as always, a fantastic railway for the run to take place.

Keith,
Your NG4 is simply superb (not to be confused with the Bowaters Bagnall 0-6-2T).I have really enjoyed watching your build and look forward to your next build, whatever that may be.

My Jack as well as another here in North America also have the pop off smokebox door. Mine dates to 1986 and the other to 1984. I also have a 1979 Marmaduke which is really a treat to run.

There are VERY few 2 1/2 inch gauge tracks left. I know of three tracks in the whole of the western U.S. in private ownership and one club track. Price is driven by several things, two of which are rarity AND desirability. A half built model in a virtually moribund scale will not likely sell for a g...

I would say you have a part completed H.J. Coventry President class Pacific. A friend has one he is turning into a quite spectacular SP P10 class San Joaquin Daylight model.

Nice work! I use miniature pop valves made here in the U.S. by WeeBee Loco Parts. They are much smaller than Accucraft and Roundhouse valves and open and close with a snap. PM me for the maker's email address if interested.

From the photo, the milk wagon appears to be wider than the coal wagon by a substantial margin. I would agree the length should be the same as should the chassis configuration, but the width and top planks are the question. I believe I have seen photos of a model on INJIN's railway behind an Archang...

Campbeltown and Machrihanish Milk Wagon Drawings

Does anyone know of drawings for the C&M milk wagon? None are presented in MacMillan's book (1970 or 1993) and the wagon only appears in one photo I know of. Are there any other photos aside from the end view adjacent to the loco shed?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Some were also fitted with mild steel piston and valve rods that corroded and allowed blow-by on the glands.

I have largely given up on bent ply roofs after discovering the ease and realism of planked roofs thanks to Neil Ramsay's articles. No more wavy edges and a much more pleasing overhead view.

Here is a short film of my mid-1980s Campbeltown and Machrihanish Atlantic built by Cyril Clarke running at a recent steamup.

Jarvis Bay is an interesting piece of work. The owner has even acquired a couple of the coaches 'streamlined' to go with Jarvis Bay. I will have to try to snap a photo of the train when next I see it at a steamup.
