Any idea where and when this photo was taken?

I'm presently helping the NGRS digitise their collection of photos and am trying to catalogue them as I go. This photo looks to my like the Simplex which was used by the Ffestiniog Railway in its early preservation days. That looks like the front of an England loco to the left, but the stock behind ...

Re: The Railway in the Valley of the Mill

It's clear that "Beautifully engineered" doesn't just apply to the bridge - your whole railway has been constructed to enviably high standards.

Re: Peckforton Light Railway - Video Library

Sorry Rik I didn't because I don't know if a train is going Up or Down a line. Not being that well up on how trains run on railways lines....  Trains heading towards the main terminus are said to be heading Up the line and vice versa. London was considered to be there main terminus in ...

Re: Peckforton Light Railway - Video Library

So Rik, how does this work if you have a loco turntable, or is this just a specialism of your railway. Hi Jim As far as I know, very few UK narrow gauge railways had turntables and they generally had all their locos facing one way, though the Ashover had a triangle junction at one end. The PLR deci...

Re: Peckforton Light Railway - Video Library

The ‘deliberate mistake’ will have to be pointed out to me though. All my locos face Down the line, so an Up train should be hauled by the loco in reverse. I thought the shot would look better if the loco on the Up ore faced the camera, so I reversed it for this and a couple of other shots. It grat...

That point at the entrance to the reverse loop looks interesting, Greg. Scratchbuilt?

Re: First time scratchbuild project - Bagnall steam loco

I've been impressed with the level of fine control which the locoremote system provides. Would be interesting to see if it's possible to use the RX with some sort of knobbed tx.

Clever use of artificial grass on the raised section. Looks really good (and low maintenance).

... You've prodded me into now putting the fence panels and individual posts onto Thingiverse!! Thanks Philip. It'll be a great addition. I'm sure it wouldn't take me long to draw them in TinkerCAD, but ..... well you know :? Rik PS. Liking the look of the water tower BTW. And that platform edging ...

Re: 3 D Printing 16mm models

Looks great - presumably a coat of paint helps with durability.
A couple of questions. Did you need supports for the picket fencing or were the spaces between palings spanned OK by the printer? Are the parts on Thingiverse, by any chance?

Re: First time scratchbuild project - Bagnall steam loco

That'll tidy up nicely, Tom. A bit of filing will soon smooth everything down. I also wrapped the cylinders on my Sharpie with thin plasticard, plus adding a disc with Cambrian bolt heads at each end.

Re: 3 D Printing 16mm models

That does look impressive and sounds it with 1.3kg of filament. Wow!
I hadn't realised that PLA is biodegradable until recently, whereas ABS isn't. Are you intending to leave the footbridge outside all the time?

Re: Bone Works

As for clutter, a couple of wheelbarrows and/or 4-wheel trolleys on the platform? Perhaps a ladder? I wonder if things might have come in or out in barrels rather than sacks? Just thoughts to play with. I did wonder about a few barrows or trolleys loaded with bones. I did a quick search on Thingive...
