Thanks John
I wanted some for a modelling task a few weeks back and as I was with the family at a shopping centre I thought I'd try
Hobbycraft but was horrified at the ££ they wanted for quite small sheets of p/c.
I'll have a squiz at back2bay6 site.

Stunning loco. Shows just how much can be achieved with this material.
What do you think is the most economical source of plasticard? In some places it seems very expensive.

A lovely model you can be justifiably proud of. Not an easy design to reproduce either. Lots of awkward shapes. Well done.

Nice rust traces on the smokebox

Hi Christopher                     I assume you want a fir because it's evergreen so a) doesn't drop leaves and b) provides visual screening year round. Have a look in local garden centres and nuseries which are usually cheaper than the big franchises. You can also buy trees online. As well as fir y...

Agreed about the colour. Royal blue would look nice or deep plum.

I have signed the petition again and hope others do too.

This sneaky trick of making a few cosmetic alterations then resubmitting the application is one favoured by developers i believe.

Me too. I'm interested. In fact i've been awaiting further developments. While I was building my Atlantic buffet car I looked at the Obs car on Ivan's site and thought it would make a great DMU though I felt it would benefit from an inner windscreen frame on the cab to beef it up a bit, making the f...

suggestion only ( i haven't tried it) Place a piece of offcut scaffold tube or similar in vice horizontally with four lengths of rail vertically placed between the tube and one jaw of the vice. Get a large piece of timber held against the tops of the rail sections and apply steady pressure evenly ac...

I do like the umber / tan in your picture but isn't that a bit deeper/richer than the R/H tan ?

I painted this one with LNWR coach plum and LNWR white. It looks brown but close up or in strong light it has a purplish sheen to it - not very evident in this pic though!

I'm sure Phoenix Precision paints stock most LNWR colours. I know they do engine black (blackberry black) coach plum P379 and i think they still do coach white P380 (though that may be discontinued).

I thought 'lake' was a more reddish/deep maroon. The coach plum
which i have is a purplish brown.
