Re: Figures

PS. Just seen Rod Loco Crew on the https://www.modelu3d.co.uk/ site…..   Named after you Rod! Unfortunately not listed in our scale. What you should look for is 1:19th. scale or very near. Hi Peter, As above, everything is available in 16mm if you email Alan. You'll be able to buy i...

Just spoken to Alan from ModelU, he said that the entire range will be available to order through the website soon, but just drop him an email if you want something in 16mm now

Re: Radii

That's helpful, thanks guys! 3' radius did seem too small (although apparently the Accucraft Manning Wardle can take it!), so I'll get into the garden and see what the largest radius it could fit would be (and that the wife would allow)

Thanks guys!

Re: Radii

If you want to use set track go for the larger Peco R607 curves but I would strongly recommend you use flexi track and put in the biggest curve radius you can! What's the best way to guarantee a smooth and consistent curve? I'd use a rail bender in real life but I don't image there's a 16mm equival...

My passion is for the L&B but I very much doubt my garden is big enough to get a Manning Wardle around a curve in it! So I'm thinking W&LLR bogie stock might be the longest, with something like a Roundhouse Lady Anne?

Radii

Me again (sorry).

What's the "ideal" radii for 16mm/32mm railways? I'm planning a curved bridge as my first build and I'm not sure what radii I should be aiming for, and if I can use set-track to make it slightly easier.

Cheers

SSP Slomo

Not wishing to cause a scene (I understand these are controversial with some enthusiasts), but does anyone in the UK import and fit the slomos? Not sure I have the ability to install it myself.

Cheers

PLine

Has anyone ordered from PLine before? Curious as to how the importing works when it comes to cost, and what the quality of their models is like

South Wales

Hey Folks,

Are there any railways, friendly enthusiasts or a 16mm Association area group in South Wales, specifically around Bridgend? Moving there in a few weeks and looking to build a railway in our garden but don't know where to begin!

Re: A stream for the Elderbury & District Light Railway

Egypt had a rich history of 2' 6" lines (although none survive now), always tempted to do an Egypt based 009 layout set in the 1920s based on a fictional narrow gauge line from Port Said or Alexandria to Faiyum via Giza

Re: Newqidas on the Block

Love the black and orange, doesn't sound like it should work but absolutely does! Similar to the WHR/FRs odd yellow and grey livery for PW items

Slightly highjacking - is it possible to fit chopper couplings to the Newqida coaches?

Figures

My brother-in-law commented the other day "it's interesting that the detail of model railway figures gets better and better the larger the scale, until you get to 16mm when they become almost caricature-ish" which got me thinking - where are the high detail model figures out there for 16mm?

I've seen these Occre trams before, apparently they're an absolute pig to build! Not sure how to get overhead power in but might be a good place to start

I've been considering dabbling in trams, powered by overhead electrics. Anyone else done this and suggest a good way in?

Thanks
