That seems to pull and push very well, have you added additional weights?

Re: Gmeinder & Co loco

Once I got the hang of it, it was quite easy and potentially opens all sorts of possibilities for posing figures. If anyone wants to know how to do it, just shout. Also yes please, I have a figure that I would love to be able to move the arm on it into a different position but have absolutely no cl...

Re: Not sure why motor keeps cutting out.

Thanks for the suggestions Drewzero & Steves. I've googled 280 size motors and the existing motor size is exacxtly that - its a tight fit so no other size would do. I can only find a higher voltage motor at 12 -24 volts so excuse my ignorance on electrical matters but I assume that would work w...

Re: Cheapo diesel sound card

I must say that Andy has been very clever in finding a way to put the Rx into programming mode. As well as the Deltang method, the MR603 can go into program mode by tapping in SOS in morse code on the bind button. Clever chap! Ril Indeed, that's the method I use, I thought it was a great idea too :...

Re: Cheapo diesel sound card

You can supposedly tweak the servo range on the 65c, though I have never tried it.. It might be easier to wait, and see how it reacts, with the MR603? Phil.P I can answer that, it works perfectly with the MR603c. I borrowed one which had a later version on it and it has Pad 1 setup as a servo on CH...

Shame you're the other side of the world as I have a lovely Ender 5 Pro that needs a new home, glass bed, BLTouch, great little work horse. Ah well, I do hope you find what you are looking for somewhat closer to home :D

That card sounds really good in there, as you say, a little short in range, but then diesels don't rev that hard anyway

You have done a great job of that paint after the initial reaction. Looks super, loving the printed name plates.

Re: DIY Arduino radio control for garden train

That seems to fit really well after a bit of modification. What software did you use to create the diagrams, they are really good? I use Fritzing version 0.9.3b wich is free. If you want version 1.xxx you have to donate to the creators Just downloading the 0.9.3b now  Thank you :D

Re: Cabbed Hunslet

That's looking great. One of my next project is to print a loco. I am equipped with LGB track so I think it is 45mm ? Do you have a link to the model you have done for 45mm ? I don't want to design my first loco. I prefer tu print an already approved one. Thanks Sam I did this one a while back in b...

Re: Not sure why motor keeps cutting out.

Lower voltage but higher amperage motor maybe? I'll admit I had assumed a PP3 alkaline, which is the extent of my experience with that form factor. :dontknow: Exactly that. A 3v-6v motor being powered at 9v is going to draw a lot of current, even at half speed. Those low voltage motors are high cur...

Re: Not sure why motor keeps cutting out.

I would suggest using a different battery to a 9v battery as they are very low discharge rate batteries. If you can get hold of a li-po or li-ion battery you may have more luck running it on a 2 cell pack at 8.4v. These batteries have a much higher discharge rate and may well stop the problem. Certa...

Re: Cheapo diesel sound card

I think I might have found one that is silent until you Twitch the speed from zero, and will shutoff if the Speed is zero for 20 seconds, or so. You can also set the 'zero' point, though the instructions have lost something in translation. Phil, can you share that link here as well please? I think ...

Are you going to wallpaper them?
Not sure about the finish yet. I think some will end up papered and some won't, depending how hard it is to get a good surface with sanding alone. I will probably do one in black, if I build another, not sure of the colour.

Unfortunately I am a seriously untidy worker, I like everything to hand. The really surprising thing is, I actually tidied it up a lot before taking the picture...

Re: Cheapo diesel sound card

Steve, glad you've got it sorted. Quicky question. On my laptop it sounds very "thin", no appreciable bass, more like a lawnmower than a diesel loco. I'm not sure if that is actually the sound it produces, or an artefact of the the speaker you are using, or the recording system or the lap...

Re: Cheapo diesel sound card

Does this card need a slight tweak (from stop) for it to start making a noise, and does it 'switch off' if you are stationary for 20-30 seconds? Glad you are sorted. Phil.P The reaction time is pretty good to be fair, however there is no cut out with this setup as it is, it's on when you give it po...
