one word about it though STUNNING why couldn't it have recieved that 2 tone green earlier Thanks! I did the design of the new livery and how it would fit on to the loco. It is based on a well-known 1960's BR diesel livery, but all will be revealed in due course. It could have appeared earlier if it...

Re: First Bertie run - and many surprices

The fitted pressure gauge doesn't work though, just stayed at 0 despite the pressure gauge popping.  Any ideas? Almost certainly not the pressure gauge at fault, but needs checking. I've done a similar job myself on an old Lady Anne and an old Dylan in my collection. http://i537.photobucket.com/albums/ff340/TonyW590/DSC00057.jpg If you do decide to put new axles on it you will also need to get new wheels, cranks, crank pins and axle bearings. I have a similar arrangement in some of my wagons, except that it consists of a piece of marine ply cut to size standing on some ply "legs" to get the correct height. Real coal glued on to the top with PVA completes the job, and at a fraction of the cost of a bought-in item. And remember, ...

All steam engines had red inside the frames, so the crews can spot cracks and defects in the frame more easily. It also reflects light so they can generaly see more easily. That is exactly my understanding too. There is an exception to the Red Rule though, and that is Gresley A4 Pacifics that had t...

There is no such thing as an NGG15. The correct term is NG15.

NG stands for Narrow Gauge, NGG stands for Narrow Gauge Garratt.
