Thanks Sylvian you have shamed me twice. I finished an ip 3/4 plank wagon yesterday and thought how plain the solebars look. In addition Mrs B is wondering why men love to work in clutter and have more than one project on the go! She says it isn't logical...... The solebars look far better tarted up...

Thanks for all the help guys, stripped the gas jet down tonight, lit first time as it should, using the same gas can as before aswell! ... held it over the chimney ... The gas we use is heavier than air, so try putting the match/lighter under the front buffer beam instead. This should give easier ignition but also avoids the loco standing in a "puddle" of gas which can then ignite when the gas reaches the top of the chim...

Thanks Michael. I've got some bachmann wheelsets that need using up so those bronze bearings look a good buy. It will be nice to try a laser cut kit. I rushed in and bought a couple of kits with my Lady Anne and they look like they will need some serious fettling.

16mm Today sent me to the website, I was planning on scratchbuilding some box vans but these make a great base to add some strapping and possibly tweaking the doors to open. Another alternative is screwfix stainless steel security fixings. Brass screws maybe dear but brass track even more so, not sure it would stop a determined thief but certainly stop a passing chancer
