Re: Loading bank

Anything to help a genius! Just read the blog on how you cast those sides, a very tidy job.

Is your fruit dolls house products or have you invented an apple casting machine? :D

Re: Vale of Fairway

Don't think I'll ever master singlehanded videos. If it could go wrong it did today. Generally grumpy as we have a 5.00 a.m. terrier. The walks in the woods are getting darker and even met a boar this morning which didn't help my non bonhomie .

Re: Loading bank

I LIKE that and see your need for fruit crates. Did busted bricks do some. Have I still got some you can have? Will check.

You could use peach yogurt and strawberry yogurt and reverse the colours! I think it will look fine when weathered down.

Mamod traction engines

Does anybody else get a touch of the hankers? I've suddenly had urges to buy a Mamod traction engine, don't know why but the force is strong. I'm following a couple on eBay with the resolution I will bid £x and if it does, it does. Anybody else suffer from buying urges or own a Mamod and got any tip...

Re: Vale of Fairway

Fuschias removed it's a nicer spot now. The concrete pad was going to be a timber store but may be a brick barn. Glad I made Mrs B take a picture of that local barn....itsbeing painted black...even the bricks! If I was Mick Jagger I would write a song...i see an old barn and I want it painted black....

Re: Vale of Fairway

Hope you're ok Rod, I'll wrap those bits tomorrow, honest!

The wagon probably doesn't bear close inspection but does for me. If I can do it most others can, just a question of taking your time....most of my builds take time...

Guess extreme heat wouldn't have helped, I'm sure some good glue and some heavy weights will cure it.

Re: Vale of Fairway

Interesting pictures of those building sheets. My Lincolnshire potato railways has provided pictures of a LIFU loco that appears to be a steam lorry. Fast steaming using paraffin on a hot surface. Not sure about a steam model but did wonder whether a diesel tractor/trailer could be interesting. I co...

Don't think I will invest in a printer but do like seeing what is being produced. Those wagons look nice and have to admit after so many items the investment must repay itself.

Re: Vale of Fairway

Another barn door build using the too short ends from the bogie build. I'm sure it will come useful for something at some point. All the bits in stock so I'll take it as a freebie .

Loving this build, it really is taking garden railways to a whole new level.

PS If you need a rat for your drain there was one scuttling along my railway yesterday...

Re: Help with track

Hi Jack, I type so slowly you've asked another question! I found track power a pain and moved to rc. Houstoun Gate and IP engineering do battery powered kits that could get you started quite cheaply. Installing rc seemed daunting but GRik's wiring plan makes it simple enough to understand for beginn...

Re: Help with track

Welcome Jack, I'm afraid I use 45mm track. LGB were obviously the forerunners in this gauge and their "clip" together curves are useful where space is limited (as I know). Where I have used tenmille track I found track templates (inserted between rails whilst laying) useful to keep curves ...
