Re: Another milestone reached

Well done Rik. I did notice a little while ago that your numbers were escalating. I can but say a big thank you from me and, I suspect, many others for the time and effort you've taken to share your expertise with us and the inspiration you have provided. Congratulation Rik. Phillip summed it up a ...

Re: Two Dogs Railway

Great to see you are doing a bit Dwayne, but please don’t overdo it. The cuttings do look good though. I realise that the urge to do something does overtake the boredom of not being able to work on anything though. Would you be able to do some rolling stock or buildings for the line until you are fi...

I would be very proud of that Viaduct Greg. And so you should be too. :thumbright: :thumbright: It’s brilliant and nearly 20 years old now too, wow. They way you have worked out your angles and applied them to the arch and the columns is brilliant. The scaffolding is truly inspired, never thought of...

Re: Great Model Railway Challenge - Ch5 tonight

Anne and I when we saw the way the Aberdeen team had finished their layout thought straight away that it would win. It was a truly wonderful build. Just think it may happen that travel would be moving through the clouds…Lets face it, the roads are getting overcrowded now.

I also love the CAT. Great use of the garden too. Agree with Phillip, I can just imagine the trains winding their way round.

Re: They Shall Not Grow Old

I found it very difficult to watch if I am honest. I really don't think as a race of people we have understood how to live together. It all depends on how you determine race Tom. Are we one race or many. It is often banded about all the different races relations on something or another. But aren’t ...

SM TODAY Magazine

Has anyone had their November issue of 16mm Today magazine yet. I didn’t get my previous issue sent to me and I had to send an email to Warners to ask for a copy. I did send them and 16mm Association my new address details when I moved in June. Getting a bit fed up with having to chase people for th...

Re: A Kab for a Konrad

Hope it works for you Keith. Hopefully it will. The different thickness’s won’t be helping, but with a bit of patience and luck :) you should be soldering brass like a professional……. ;) ;)

Remembrance Day 2018

I am not sure if this will be allowed. I will be at our village Remembrance Day Service to remember the fallen soldiers from the village. My thoughts will by with all that fell in the Great War of 1914-1918 and those that were killed in WW2 and are still being killed today Image 11-11-2018 at 09.09....

Re: A Kab for a Konrad

Hi Keith, What wattage iron did you use mate. You really need has low a wattage as you can have when soldering thin brass. I did some the other week and I used a high wattage and blew the brass away. so I then got my lowest iron out, about 30 watts and it did a better job. I also only tacked it firs...

Re: Is it me?

As you are near Cardiff I can recommend the butchers on the market (first on the left as you go in). They do some of the best BP I have ever eaten and a thing called Tiger Bay Pudding which is divine. You need to eat them from the home of Black Pudding Jim…….Bury……. :thumbright: :thumbright: :thumb...

Re: Cold Cure Required

Thanks for the replies gentlemen. The cold has now gone, I think beating it to death with warm alcoholic beverages was the answer. Mulled cider with a large drop of rum in it helped vastly. I am tempted to keep up with this little concoction as a preventative mesure. Glad to hear Jim….Works every t...

That sound just like the UK Peter, apart from the storm windows bit. Saying that, we are starting to get some very windy weather now.
