Re: First Steam Loco
Welcome and great to see the young ones involved with garden railways. There is nothing better than going outside into the fresh air, instead of being indoors on tablets and laptops..... Anyway, this may be of interest to you. The new Mamod Stirling, it's a nice looking loco that is gas fired and is...

Re: NEW FWLR LINE
You're correct Peter, it is more noisier in reverse. Will have a look at trying some thing to deaden it a bit. I do have some of that poly stuff, [they look like quavers], might do the trick, but if not we will probably have to put up with it......

Re: NEW FWLR LINE
An update is needed on our line. After some more unforced illness again, I am now back into the swing of things. I have finished the garage, so I went to place it on the new extension, for which it was originally for. It looked good until Anne pointed out the slight overhang with the car compound. D...

Re: Bogies
Thanks Graeme. Did you look at the tram video, it shows it running with a coach that would not run at all on the old track. It does now, so I think the track is fairly well laid if I say so myself....

Bogies
I need some advice please on some bogies. I have a railbus that will not run at all on my newly laid extension track, it wouldn't run on the old track either.... The trouble is I think, the bogies are too far forward and the whole body rolls all the time. I am thinking that the bogie needs to ...

Re: Workbench protection
I also use the largest cutting mat you can buy, they are a little bit expensive, but has Peter said, The Works" do them cheaper than most. My little worktop is used a lot, I bought it off Amazon, there are other sites on the inter web.... It is lightweight but very strong, with metal legs that ...

Just carry on Steve with how you are doing things. I think you're doing an absolutely brilliant job and it just shows what you can achieve without all the modern stuff, though they do have there place, skills like your's are disappearing fast....

Re: A bit of time in the shed
It all depends Tom. Pilot holes are just that, a pilot hole, to help with locating a bigger bit. But mostly I would use engineers blue and then a centre punch when ever I drilled holes, there was no danger of the bit wondering off then.

I need a corrugation roller just like that too..... when you have time! I'm sure there will be a waiting list before long.
I will be second in line for a roller please.
Your water tower is absolutely brilliant. Some great thought and ideas are put together to make a superb water tower.
