Elmtree, at the price it was and relative small amount of work that needed, it was well worth it, it costed £995 with radio, not bad. Plus, the work (so far) was a synch (says the boy who can make loco boilers) :P

I cant say exactly James until the roundhouse open day but looking at the serial number and comparing to others, I would say no more than 3 years but was never run more than a couple of times according to GRC

It may have been that Brian as well but the way the swarf was in the burner made it more likely to have come from factory, probably the reason for its old owner selling the poor thing.

And so the dismantling began. For a start, the burner/jet was taken out of its holder and inspected. Turns out there was SWARF in the burner and a lot of it. This was picked out with a toothpick to start with and then, after ultrasonicly cleaned twice later and more tooth picking, the burner appeare...
