I think at the end of it all, he just wanted to get out but still no excuse for leaving the site up.

I am afraid supply was the nature of his problems. I am lucky enough to have known Andy well enough to get my goods in the end and hear the full story.
Very sad loss to the hobby.

The FR is by no means my prime interest but as a result, I have now got many more ideas for mamod bashing and have ideas for an open quarrymen's coach in the same style but hey ho, its no agricultural tramway. Brilliant publication.

I would give Libre CAD a good go. It was infuriating at first but has a lot of perks when drawing items up. I have done all sorts with it from 7 1/4 inch gauge couplings to loco frames.

We are lucky enough to have a vinyl cutter which does the trick and I can vouch for the letters longevity. One of my sets is entering its 5th year!

Shame as there are plenty of very good 10 1/4 and 7 1/4 railways that can be visited including a few oddball gauges like 9 1/2.

Ah yes, Lappa, a very nice line with a nice selection of engines. I visited when I was about seven or eight but unlike here, I think it was Muffin that was running instead of Zebedee.

I will be at my local railway, 9 1/2 inch gauge Lakeshore Railroad. Plenty to get on with, might even find some tidying to do whilst the busy service runs.

The view for us in the North East wasn't overly bad, quite cloudy at first but just say after the peak it appeared quite well between the clouds. No pictures as I was viewing it through a welding mask before moving this lump! http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u636/PerrowMatt/IMG_0623_zpsfu7g8hj3.j...

I think there are just a minority that fit stereotypes out there, especially the "hoodie" types. Being 16, most people my age often get branded with this but we are not all like that! I am certainly not like that! For a start I dont even have a hoodie.
